Overall, Wave in Coventry is a good place to visit and there is plenty for children to play with. The facilities are decent and kids can have a lot of fun during the session.nnThe main downside is that they only offer 2-hour sessions, with no option to purchase extra time. Everyone has to leave the site completely for the next session, which makes the visit feel a bit rushed. In my opinion, 2 hours is too short, especially when children are really enjoying themselves. The food and drink selection is also quite limited.nnOverall, it’s still a nice place, but a bit more flexibility on session time and better selection would improve the experience a lot
Absolutely fantastic experience! We arrived prior to the recommended time, a staff member/life guard approached us with the most amazing attitude, he questioned if we had a slot, we did, he explained the process and said they would check our tickets shortly. They did and advised when we could go through. Clean changing rooms, easy to use lockers, although out of our 6 bands, only 3 could use a locker which wasn’t explained and two of the children ended up with these bands on, but they loved feeling important. Now, firstly, these lifeguards are like no other, they don’t wait and see, they act, my son came out the bottom into the circle pool and was a little disoriented, the lifeguard went straight in and helped him out, no hesitation, no mum panic just acted, he would have been fine but we appreciated this act plus another lifeguard appeared within a split second to check. Hats off! There wasn’t a moment that I saw the lifeguards without their eyes on the pools, slides! They’ve won the lottery with the staff.nGreat facilities, just wish I had checked the hairdryer situation.nnParking was easy to find and to find spaces, loved that you could get a discount and this was explained online. Parking is actually so much closer than online led us to believe which was a huge win!
We decided to take a trip to Coventry on Sunday and experience The Wave which is a fully enclosed waterpark.nHaving pre-booked the check was very simple.nWe were all given wristbands which after a bit of fiddling managed to open the lockers in the changing village.nYou first walking past The Reef which is themed for smaller children and has slides, tipping bucket and water jets.nThen you have a choice of the wave pool which is the largest in the UK or the smooth flowing lazy river.nThe other option is choosing one of the 6 flumes on offer with three of them riding on inflatables.nUnfortunately on the the day we visited The Torrent was not available!nThe Wave is well staffed and all are polite and helpful.nWe parked in the Salt Lane carpark where if you enter you car reg in The Wave on a wall tablet you will receive a discount.
Our fifth visit. And I think our last. The queues were terrible for most of the session. For some time there were none of the inflatables you use for the larger rides as they were all in use. The red rocket vertical drop ride was closed and unavailable same as last time we came. At times we were prevented from entering the wave pool and lazy river, again due to the number of people already in them. The queue for the body ride where you drop into a big bowl was so long you had to wait by a speaker playing very loud music.nnWe have had some great times here in the past although on one previous visit the queues were very bad also.nnI don't think we'd go back unless the operator limits entry numbers and publicise this. It's a shame as the rides are really good.
Good fun but unfortunately a couple of the rides were closed torrent and riptide. The other rides were pretty tame but good for younger children, the fastest slide being the rapids. I went on a sunday during the first session and the queues were quite short which i was pleasently surprised about. It was also quite warm inside so didnt feel cold waiting for slides.nnThe facilities in general were clean but the lockers are not the best as many were not locking properly and once you have selected one you cant change it there were 4 of us and only 2 worked properly so had to cram everything in to avoid going back to reception. Showers were not very powerful but it were clean so ok.nnThe 2 hour session goes very fast so recommend going early to sort out entry and lockers.nnThe crestar seemed to have the longest queue when we went so might want to go on that first if you want to try all of them. A bit slow but great for younger kids, there is a weight limit think 60kg so my kids while tall enough couldnt go on it together so for lighter kids an adult may be required.
