Absolutely fantastic experience! We arrived prior to the recommended time, a staff member/life guard approached us with the most amazing attitude, he questioned if we had a slot, we did, he explained the process and said they would check our tickets shortly. They did and advised when we could go through. Clean changing rooms, easy to use lockers, although out of our 6 bands, only 3 could use a locker which wasn’t explained and two of the children ended up with these bands on, but they loved feeling important. Now, firstly, these lifeguards are like no other, they don’t wait and see, they act, my son came out the bottom into the circle pool and was a little disoriented, the lifeguard went straight in and helped him out, no hesitation, no mum panic just acted, he would have been fine but we appreciated this act plus another lifeguard appeared within a split second to check. Hats off! There wasn’t a moment that I saw the lifeguards without their eyes on the pools, slides! They’ve won the lottery with the staff.nGreat facilities, just wish I had checked the hairdryer situation.nnParking was easy to find and to find spaces, loved that you could get a discount and this was explained online. Parking is actually so much closer than online led us to believe which was a huge win!
We decided to take a trip to Coventry on Sunday and experience The Wave which is a fully enclosed waterpark.nHaving pre-booked the check was very simple.nWe were all given wristbands which after a bit of fiddling managed to open the lockers in the changing village.nYou first walking past The Reef which is themed for smaller children and has slides, tipping bucket and water jets.nThen you have a choice of the wave pool which is the largest in the UK or the smooth flowing lazy river.nThe other option is choosing one of the 6 flumes on offer with three of them riding on inflatables.nUnfortunately on the the day we visited The Torrent was not available!nThe Wave is well staffed and all are polite and helpful.nWe parked in the Salt Lane carpark where if you enter you car reg in The Wave on a wall tablet you will receive a discount.
This is by far the best thing about Coventry since the car museum started charging. I know it appears expensive but luckily we went in December half term and the longest queue was ten minutes. Lockers are free or included in the price using your wrist band. This is the best system I've ever seen. The staff are amazing considering they are all young. I didn't use the parking so can't comment on that. I am unfit so having to climb the stairs did get a bit much. Just do a slide then chill in the lazy river! Obviously no photos to add. Can't wait to come back. We arrived early you go to the till remember to quote your email, collect the wrist bands and go and wait in the seating area. When called follow the signs to the changing rooms, change and put all your stuff in the lockers. Go through to the entrance use the toilets. Have a rinse. Then waited to enter the pool area.
The waterpark has the right idea but hasn’t quite got it right. Went off peak 4.30pm session on a Friday. Park was really quiet hardly any queues less than 4 people infront of you for every slide! which was really good! The baby park downstairs is in completely the wrong place, it’s feezing cold for any young ones or babies due to the draft coming through the changing rooms. Our baby was shivering when we went down there, so we couldn’t stay. The water also isn’t the warmest, and the air is also quite cold when you’re not in the water. The slides looked really good, the lazy river is a little bit small & the wave pool is tiny. The circle shape of the building is good but really annoying when you’ve done a few laps of the building to get to slides. They could do with some rubber matting because it’s really slippery even when walking round. Staff are all quite young, but very friendly and looked to be on the ball with safety. Overall it wasn’t too bad, more suitable for kids 10-16 than any other age. & wish it was a bit warmer!
Really a great place. I took my son and 3 of his friend's today and they absolutely loved every minute of it. Great place. My only criticism would be that the slide with the ddors that open beneath your feet wasn't operational today and that was one of the reasons we went today but they still had lots of fun.
