While walking to the Botanical Gardens, we decided to grab a bite before our tour. We walked to the closest pub, and were told that they don't do food. This seemed like a strange concept, on a weekend, around lunch time, but we pulled out our phone, and found The Washerwoman. A truly excellent place, with the feel of a small pub/restaurant, excellent service, interesting menu, and delicious food. We decided that it would be a good place to get sticky toffee pudding, and it was! Can't wait to come back here again.
Lovely place for a good meal. Friendly staff. Food was excellent. Nice table upstairs. Hope to go again soon.
We adored this place. The two ladies taking care of us were so attentive and sweet. The food was amazing, we had the steak for two. The best brownie with ice cream I’ve ever had no exaggeration. The drinks were delicious, she whips up a perfect espresso martini. Thank you for making my husbands birthday dinner perfect
Absolutely gorgeous restaurant - food is amazing and staff are so helpful. We had the roast chicken stuffed with goats cheese and polenta - delicious. So much effort went into the two kids portions of hake with mash and chicken wings - they were mini gourmet adult meals. Can't recommend enough.
Went to Sunday brunch with my boyfriend, and never experienced such a warm and cosy place, the atmosphere, staff who truly cared and gorgeous warmth and feel in the setting. Best Irish breakfast I've ever had, and the mimosa's were amazing. Saw the Sunday roast and it looked divine, so can't wait to get back soon!
This food served in this restaurant is really delicious. The room upstairs is cosy and very much christmassy. The staff are very polite. The drawback is that it does not have its own parking, but one can park around the area.Food: 4/5
Disappointed to be honest, cold experience from the temperature to the service. The Average price of meals was above the service offering really. Waited 20 mins for a drink after dinner. Never offered desert menu or coffee. Very swift however producing the bill when requested. Will not return. Need to up their game to include the staff attire and footwear, wasnt even busy for saturday night. Not a restaurant experience.
Ingredients they use are amazing. Everything cooked so well and fresh. Nicest chips I've had in a long time too. Would highly recommend the Dublin Bay prawns on the sourdough with seaweed butter. Portion size isn't amazing for the price so would recommend a side of salad or chips. Well worth the visit. Staff very nice!
Washerwoman is a fabulous place for a meal. Staff are so friendly. Thanks to Elaine, Joy and Glen. Myself and my friends had a lovely evening last Saturday.
Relaxed but smart local restaurant serving excellent, fresh local ingredients. Intelligent wine and drinks list. I really enjoyed the roasted trout with sweet brown shrimps, pickled fennel, cucumber, seaweed speckled mayonnaise and crushed, crisped potatoes accompanied by a delicious Chardonnay. The pumpkin fritters for a starter needed the blue cheese whip to lift them and lightened by the poached pear and pickle. I requested cheese, but was not served what was proposed, which was a shame as all 3 were quite bland. The crew were wonderful about it though. The service was polite, attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant is inside an old stone cottage - rustic, whitewashed walls. Early bird dinner was very good value €26 for 2 courses or €30 for 3.
