The Walter Arms
"The pub dates back to the 19th century. It was originally built by John Walter III – who owned the Bearwood estate at the time, for the workers on his land to have somewhere to go after a hard day’s toil. The Walter family launched The Times and edited it for many years. With a stunning outdoor courtyard featuring our famous fountain and large heated and covered Pagoda, a large garden and two car parks. An impressive gastro inspired Pan European menu changing seasonally. Vegans & vegetarian are well catered for with us. Food here is just scrumptious all year round! A drink selection from Rebellion Brewery Ales, to a great pint of Birra Moretti. There is a great selection of old and new world wines, handcrafted Gin's, Rum's, & Whiskeys!"

Nicely decorated in traditional pub style. Friendly staff. However the menu is very predictable and little inspiring. Unless you are very local it's hardly worth traveling for. It's was fit for purpose for the quick dinner we wanted just before moving on to the cinema. Food itself was neither great or awful, just about average. Shame as the look and feel of the place is really nice. I never understand why these sort of pubs don't invest in a decent menu/food development chef or consultant to put together a more exciting menu, train the kitchen staff and work with a few local suppliers, producers and ingredients.
Might have just been unlucky with my meal. Kids meals were fine, wife was happy with her lamb. But my roast beef was really fatty and portions small. Given it was £16 I had hoped for better. Waitress was lovely though. She told kitchen about beef and they just apologised, which was a limp response. So won’t be rushing back here any time soon.
Found this on a local cycle ride. Lovely pub with an excellent outside area. Perfect for summer. Nice range of beers on tap. Excellent food. Wife went for Katsu burger, which was stunningly good and I went for the old faithful fish and chips. Really good. Very impressed and will definitely return again.
Visited this pub on passing by & boy what a brilliant & cosy place to go. 2 car parks, private function room & an amazing food & drink offering for all! If I'm passing again any time soon, I'm hoping to try out the new carvery they are starting up! Well done all!
Very pleased with Sunday lunch as a carvery and the usual menu was offered aa we like varied dishes. First class service, easy free parking around the back and a nice walk along the adjacent lane made it a lovely experience. We will be back.Parking spacePlenty of parkingParking optionsFree parking lot
Nice venue. Went for a private party and it was great to have a large space with our own bar. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to have celebratory drinks Parking: Plenty of parking at the rear of the pub
