The Wallaw is probably my favorite Spoons. I first came here on a footy trip to watch my team Curzon Ashton at Blyth Spartans several years ago. I was fascinated by the transformation of the former cinema into it's current format. I have relocated from Greater Manchester to Tyneside so I will be able to visit more frequently. Such a beautiful day was had on Blyth beach followed by lunch at my favorite Spoons.
Food very nice, Gourmet Steak and kid's meals. Converted cinema turned into Witherspoons. Affordable prices..£37 for 4 people including drinks. Definitely worth a visit.
Probably my most impressive Spoons. Well done that man who can shoot himself in the foot occasionally for rescuing a classic art deco building. Mr Spoon also needs a cheer for cheap food and booze for the people. 2 good guest ales and the regulars. Brilliant carpet. Fabulous attention to the restoration period details. Puts Blyth on the map. Is it in the Camera Heritage guide? If not, it should be.
One of the nicer Weatherspoons I've been in. Lovely old building, nice quiet atmosphere. Decent, cheap hot food and very cold soft drinks! Fast service from both waitresses,
The building is surprisingly beautiful and they have managed to keep the feel of an old cinema whilst modernising it! The disabled facilities were accessible and clean.nWhere this place let's itself down is in atmosphere. There's no atmosphere, or background music. Whilst we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the building we were not so much with the staff and service.
