I feel like this place just gets steadily worse. Staff are nice but over time, the prices just seem to creep up and up and the quality of the food gets worse. Cold meals, chewy meat, poppadoms swimming in oil. It's really poor and the top it all off the heating is never on so it's always cold. Not recommended
Just paid a visit to the Wallaw Wetherspoons in Blyth and I’m genuinely impressed — this is undoubtedly one of the better Wetherspoon pubs around!nnFirst off, they’ve done an outstanding job preserving the beautiful **Art Deco look and feel** of the original building. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with elegant geometric designs, vintage lighting, and those classic clean lines that perfectly capture the Art Deco era. It feels special, warm and far removed from the “generic” spoons you sometimes see — they’ve kept the character and history alive, and it makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable.nnAs always with Wetherspoons, the **prices are fantastic**. You truly get brilliant value for money on a huge selection of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. No hidden costs, just honest, cheap prices — perfect for a night out without breaking the bank!nnBut my absolute favourite touch? **The coal fire!** Sitting snug by the real coal fire on a cool evening adds such a lovely, traditional‑pub ambience. It’s cozy, atmospheric and honestly makes the place feel like a proper old‑school local — a rare gem nowadays!nnFood was spot‑on too — fresh, well‑priced and served quickly by friendly staff.nnIf you’re in Blyth, don’t miss the Wallaw Wetherspoons. Great value, stunning Art Deco décor, and that wonderful coal fire make it a proper standout. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be back!
Had a lovely afternoon.nOrdered food but the first meals were cold.nOrdered again, naan bread was dripping in cold butter, not good. Food again was just only warm but poppadoms were burnt.nI waited over 30 minutes from ordering the first meal which was cold then the second meal was standing on the servery when I went to the toilets upstairs, by the time I got back they were still there and 5 minutes later they were delivered to our table. Surely the catering staff probe the meals they are serving to see if they leave at a recommended temperature instead of throwing out a luke warm inedible meal, twice!nI am a catering manager with over 20 years experience and would never ever send out cold food to the paying public.
Food very nice, Gourmet Steak and kid's meals. Converted cinema turned into Witherspoons. Affordable prices..£37 for 4 people including drinks. Definitely worth a visit.
The building is surprisingly beautiful and they have managed to keep the feel of an old cinema whilst modernising it! The disabled facilities were accessible and clean.nWhere this place let's itself down is in atmosphere. There's no atmosphere, or background music. Whilst we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the building we were not so much with the staff and service.
