After an amazing day out, driving here was the best choice we could make!!! Dinner was awesome ! Really great service with a smile, so helpful and patient. The food was everything we hoped for and more! Memories of childhood with pea fritters and fish that melted in your mouth, home made onion rings and everything cooked to perfection and topped with homemade tartare sauce. Thank you for a wonderful dinner !!!
I went out of my way to call in and try the wagon wheel fish and chip shop based on the reviews. I'm pleased to say the reviews are well deserved! I received a lovely welcome upon arrival and chose a spot in their restaurant area. My order was taken promptly and was freshly cooked. The restaurant was quiet but there was a steady flow of customers coming in for take away, all of which were dealt with in a friendly professional manner. I noted that several customers were called by name. A nice touch for regular customers! I was impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant area and was pleased to see that when the plates were cleaned away from another table it was properly cleaned as well. The food came out in a timely fashion and was well cooked and nicely presented. I had a pot of earl grey tea for a drink. There is a really nice vibe here, marry that with the good food, cleanliness and lovely staff it is a pleasure to come here. The wagon wheel fish and chip shop certainly gets my recommendation.
Whilst in St Austell and Gluten intolerance is normally the reason for not eating Fish and Chips... We found a gold mine! Food cooked to order FRESH!! Staff were very efficient and the food was amazing. Will be sure to head back when in the area
The best fishcakes ever, restaurant quality. The cod bites are amazing. Also the southern fried chicken is really high quality. The chips I tend to not bother with as I'm really fussy, I like em really crispy. I'm eating leftover cod bites for breakfast now. No other chipshop would it still taste as good cold the next morning The staff here are amazing
Best Fish and Chips ever, we had family down from Reading and after a busy day we were looking forward to our food and it certainly didn't disappoint...Jo and team are extremely welcoming and really lovely people.

Fantastic food and huge portions at good prices. GIANT homemade onion rings were the best I've ever had. Tartare sauce is a killer... Fish was very thick and meaty, batter well fried and tasty. Yummie! Well worth coming here straight after 230 mile trip from Berkshire ;
Simply put, these are the best fish and chips we've had in Cornwall. Consistently excellent quality, served by courteus and helpful staff. Well done to all, and thank you. Terry Needham
Just had a lovely fish and chip meal here, the food was excellent. We ate in,a family of 4 2 children 10 and 4. And we had 2 x adult cod bites ,1x cod and chips and a child's cod bites and drinks. Voted best meal of the week for all of us. Definitely worth a visit , we certainly will be returning next time we are down. The mushy peas , curry sauce and home
Update May 22. The quality of the cooking still can't be faulted!!! A price increase and now the portion control has gone off the scale and not had a nice flaky HEAD end in ages so now cannot justify 5 stars you do not get a great portion of chips even if you ask for Large so not worth it now only very special treat, To OWNER "BEN"? u need to look at other shops around portion sizes, previously I said Always very good quality fish and chips excellent CRISPY chips so mega if you HATE soggy chips. can be a tad tight with the fish portion though.
