First time of visiting and will definitely be back. Nice and cosy pub/restaurant. Only downside was had to wait a while for food but it didn't matter as it was so good! Good choice on menu from English and Cypriot dishes.
Great pub kind and helpful staff good food amd drink
The meal was very poor. We had lamb shank and slow cooked pork belly. Gravy and meat had no flavour or taste. We used to go to this pub quite often in the past but I doubt we'll ever come for food again. Nice attentive waiters.
Has disappointingly gone downhill. Been meeting up with friends here every couple of months for a few years but probably not any longer. They are in a prime position but on a sunny day it was almost empty inside and out. They used to serve wonderful sandwiches and snacks lunchtime and had a good evening menu too - now there is nothing at lunchtime and minimal evening choices. A great shame .... An update having revisited the area last week- it is now under new management and promises good food so will try it again soon.
This is a lovely pub and restaurant. The food was excellent. There are 2 menus, 1 English and 1 Cypriot plus a specials board. Great menus and great staff. Special thanks to Annie waitress, nothing was too much trouble. She was attentive and friendly without being obtrusive. Will definitely visit again.
I used to go this Pub/restaurant years ago when it served amazing Chinese food. Now it's taken over serving typical pub food with the option of Cypriot cuisine. We had Lamb shank with 2 half potatoes, very nice and tender cooked for 3 hours I was told. It wouldn't have gone amiss if they added some carrots, to give some colour, so one has to pay extra for the side dishes, a little mean I'd say. We had cauliflower cheese sauce between us £3....Lamb £14. Starters the usual at reasonable prices as are the drinks. All of the staff without exception were very attentive, polite, friendly and there when you wanted them. There was No compulsory Service which makes a change, so we left a sensible tip. Seemed to attract families with little children. May I suggest to the owner, be a tiny tiny bit more generous with additional vegetables to go with the main course, even if it means bringing the price up a fraction, that would go along way.
Warm welcome and shown to a table. No menu given and had to get up to prompt. Drink order taken and delivered quickly. Food order given and then a good 20/25 minutes another waiter came over to apparently take our order. Prawn cocktail arrived for starters very nice. Main course son ordered a mixed grill this he was unable to eat, sausage not cooked properly, burger tasted vile, lamb chop not cooked properly still very pink inside. Sweet potatoes forgotten and arrive 5 minutes later when prompted. I'm afraid this was pointed out to manager, full price paid for meal although not eaten due to uncooked food. We will not be returning.
Happened to be passing by stopped for a bite to eat , I wasnt expecting much seeing as it was a pub, the staff are super friendly and the food was amazing . I had the vegetarian polenta tart. Roast. It was delicious, and my partner had a chicken pie with mash and veg. Which he said also tasted soo good. The food reflected the price and was worth every penny. The surroundings could do with an update , but as long as that chef is working there we will be going back. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Lovely for lunch last week. Didn't bother staying the evening we tried to have dinner there a few days later. Quite rude in fact but their loss. There were 8 of us. We went to the shuhag restaurant in Waltham abbey instead. Perfectly delicious food and respectful service.
The pub itself was nice, the staff were attentive and friendly, the drinks bought over to the table. Now for the food. My wife had the fish and chips which she said was very nice, i on the otherhand had the lasagne, which tasted dry, like it had been made a couple of days ago and was heated in the microwave. The staff member did ask if I wanted to change it for something else, and did apologise, and but I declined the offer. As we paid no further information apologies were made. So I would only give a 50/50
