Both myself and my wife were looking for a new dentist and The Village Dental Practice was recommended to us by a family friend. We both have found Doug and his team to be very professional, efficient and caring. The practice provides high quality dentistry and specialist care.
I have required pretty complex dental work over the years and Doug Rider is simply the best dentist I have come across, to the extent that I now make the journey all the way from London to Bedford to see him. I will not have anyone else touch my teeth. Doug is familiar with all the latest cutting edge treatments and yet has a conservative approach trying to minimise unnecessary dental work. He is patient, kind and understands the psychological impact of dental issues. He is extremely knowledgeable and you always feel like you are in the best and gentlest hands possible. I have referred my entire family to Doug and highly recommend him! He makes visiting the dentist a pleasure!

Having had several bad experiences in the passed, I have been so lucky that I found the village dental practice and can honestly say that since being with them since 2013 I have never looked back. My son recently asked me if they were taking new patients - in his words he said that if I keep going they must be good!!! Such a wonderful team. Highly recommend
A truly professional, thorough, kind and friendly dental practice. Doug is up to date with all his dentistry and forward thinking in his approach, and he and his team have given us great advice service and TEETH! It has taken me a long time to find such a great dentist and we could not be happier with the service we have received.
Douglas has been my family dentist for many years now, however as I am 61 this year Douglas informed me that I needed a crown my first one but that would also require root canal treatment another first. Douglas has always been excellent in the past but I was very nervous as I had heard so many horror stories about root canal treatment. I can only put it down to Douglas's expert hands as while uncomfortable at times it went brilliantly. I had two treatments and I have no idea what all the fuss is about. Douglas explains what he is doing and there are no nasty surprises. I cannot recommend the practice more highly, a professional receptionist, a lovely dental technician, a smart building and a very clean practice.

Fantastic-from the start of my treatment and the first meeting with Adam Slade i felt very comfortable with The Village dental practice. I am the most nervous patience ever but everybody at the practice were very informative of my options and explaining what would happen at every stage of my treatment .Doug who runs the practice just gave me so much confidence that they could give me the result i was looking for with the help of Adam.Most of my own teeth were end of life and at 71 i was not ready for dentures so Adam set to work over the last nine months installing implants fitting a titanium barwhich i can't see or feeland other items and hey presto i now have more teeth in my mouth than i had at twenty years old and they are rock solid and look so so natural.When i had my own worn out teeth removed and temporary teeth installed i suffered very little pain and i have to say the after care has been outstanding every step of the way over the last nine months. You have to take care with the implants and the temporary teeth in the early days and having no solid foods for three months was not good and you must listen to the advice of Doug and Adam or the treatment will not succeed.Sarah the receptionist is so charming and helpful and Hayley the dental assistant is a very able and knowledgeable young lady. My treatment is almost at an end and i have gained a loverly set of teeth and a dental practice that i would recommend to anybody.Thanks to Adam Doug and the team at The Village dental practice Great Denham for great professional service and outstanding results-Well done.
This was my first visit to the practice and I travelled from London by train - only 30 minutes and so worth it. I was met at the door and was ushered into the reception area. I filled in the questionnaire which was intriguing as it talked about sleep patterns, snoring and smiles along with the normal questions about health. I was asked if I had writers cramp when I finished - which again lightened the appointment atmosphere. Anyway - all I can say was that my visit was more like a spa experience than a trip to the dentist. My appointment was for an hour - with my mouth open for almost all of that time. I am 66 and have been to a lot of dentists over the years. Doug is willowy and tall - with the face of an angel and the hands of a healer. He explained with such softness about each procedure he undertook - this included taking out an old filling where decay had started underneath and refilling. He used a new numbing injection which didn't freeze the whole face and the gel he put on pre injection prevented me from feeling any form of pain at all. My teeth were xrayed and cleaned and at one time he told me to breathe through my nose which I found quite difficult to do and so I closed my eyes and almost went to sleep. He gave me such good advice on how to use the interdental brushes and floss for diffent areas of my mouth. I got out of the chair really feeling wonderful and not battered and bruised as with other dentists over the years. All the staff I met were polite, kind and welcoming. I heartily recommend this practice and hence the five stars.
The very best. We've been with Doug for years. The attention to detail and personal care is second to none!
