The Museum was of great interest plenty to see for both adults and children the old cottage and workshops were a delight to see, there is plenty of parking on site it also has a tea room. there is disabled parking and most areas are disabled friendly There is also a campsite. It is not open on a Thursday.
Would recommend a visit to this interesting little museum if you're visiting Skegness. It's a short walk under 15 minutes from lidl I wouldn't say it was free to enter as they do expect a small donation as the council don't offer any funding to run it anymore and it's run purely by volunteers. There's a very knowledgeable man called Mike who seems to know everything about all the old machinery and tools, great man to chat with. It's very child friendly with a nice little cafe and plenty of grass area for kids to play and run around. They sometimes get the old machinery running for demo's so will have to watch out for that on our next visit.
Brilliant place! We spent 2 hours walking around the exhibition homes, war memorial centre and sheds showcasing Victorian garden machinery -nWe paid a small donation to enter, but it’s more than worth it for the experience, history and information on display.nWe finished off with a cream tea in the Haven House Tea Room! With a sausage bap - may I add the prices here are amazing!! And the food was delicious.nFIY - I can visit the tea rooms without making a donation to the centre
Would recommend to anyone visiting Skegness, this museum is a hidden gem. I took a deep intake of breath at the workshops and the smell instantly transported me back to the smell of my late father's shed.
Well worth a visit, no entrance fee they just ask for a donation
