I found this little museum which had a lot to offer. The staff who are volunteers were very informative with information of the parts of the farm and of the house and of the people who used to live in the house. It was an unexpected surprise and well worth a visit. Also they have a cafeteria where you can pick up some soup and a roll and other snacks and tea and coffee at a reasonable price. Entry to the museum is by donation.
A fantastic gem of a place, hidden in a housing estate at a seaside resort. I took part in an event there, they were hospitable. I also camped there, great pitches but a basic site. A nice cafe which serves snacks and cake.
Lovely place a very unique, open-air museum of Lincolnshire & its agricultural history, depicting farm life from Georgian/Victorian times. The farmhouse is the oldest house in Skegness, built in 1766 by the Earl of Scarborough. Plenty to walk round & see. Including a World War 1 & 2 exhibition. It is well worth a visit. There are a lot of things to look at. They also have a tea room where you can buy hot/cold drinks. Plus, the staff are really friendly. I've only posted some of the photos I took so you can get an idea of the place.

We visited to see the Cowboy gathering of the Turkey Creek Renegades - they were excellent, very detailed camps and fun firefights!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
This is a fantastic place to take the children. I go with my grandchildren whilst on holiday in the summer and they love it. So much so we have been twice during one week. The place is run by volunteers and they are so friendly and knowledgeable. The coffee and cake is delicious . You can spent a couple of hours there easily. Definately worth a visit !!!!
Great little CL site, limited access to facilities but reflected in low cost. Really friendly staff running a fantastic little museum with great exhibits. We loved everything about it, easy access to the town, amusements and beach. Cant wait to get back next year, already booked for three weeks.
Beautiful museum, an oasis of calm compared to the seafront. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and there're a range of different exhibits to see, including a stream engine, blacksmiths, range of tractors, war collections and a Victorian house. Well worth a visit if you're in the area and entry is free with a suggested donation. We gave £5pp and it was well worth every penny!
To get away from the hustle and bustle of the beach front for a bit, this place is perfect. Set in a little grassy hamlet, there is plenty to look at and learn about life in Georgian/Victorian times including a large collection of old farming machinery, a staged Victorian farmhouse and thatched cottage. Stables have been set up as wheelwrights, blacksmiths etc and display the tools of the trade from the era. The setting is beautifully picturesque and we had a lovely time here.
Been going here for many years. Event days are the best. They have started charging on event days now but still worth it. At any any other time it is a voluntary donation as it runs on this basis. Interactive aspects are here too, also at off peak times things are closed but if you ask they will open them. Pretty much you are left alone to roam through an old house and other buildings at your leisure which affords contemplation and reflection.. the kids really appreciate the 21st century after this experience but still make a B line for the Xbox. lol:
