Love this place. They have helped me a few times when I have been struggling with food. They also do job fairs, help with filling forms in for housing and benefits etc. All are volunteers and are very welcoming. There is also a cafe inside.
I went for help filling in a dwp form but the staff are amazing they are compassionate, caring n don't judge. I haven't used the food bank but it's the same staff so can only guess it as caring as the advocacy side.
Good food, nice staff
Absolutely AWSOME staff
I rated this 3 star because thier are few issues wrong with foodbanks which aint fair. On my visit to my first ever foodbank The Well this is what i found a problem with it, even though nice staff and place thier still things i disagreed with; 1: Website states open 24hrs but closes just after dinner not open long enough, just few hours. 2: On arrival i was greeted by staff and offered a drink of Tea or Coffee but never offered food such as a dinner? Am i to grovel for food like Oliver Twist. 3: You house call to collect food donated but yet you wont house call if somebody hungry and deliver who cant get to you. 4:Food Vouchers are a disgrace, the only way you get free food is to hunt for food vouchers, you get turned away if you dont have one this is disgusting. 5: Food Parcels given are appreciated but you are never given food that can make up a meal proper sent home eating food that belittles you more makes you feel worse. for example of few items i recieved couldnt make a single thing just eat them solo, Chick Peas, plum tomato, kidney beans, two tins baked beans, spaghetti hoop one tin, mushy peas!! 6: Worse option of all is you can only use foodbank three times every 6 month, this is shocking. also the amount food goes to waste in shopping outlets and visit foodbank that dont give you 2 month supply of food, how the hell is people suppose to manage like this because hampers barely last a week, never put together well enough. This country and government is a disgrace, but even charities are never straight forward they take off you very easily but give very little back in return. It should be a proper drop in for those who need to eat, for lunch and tea on daily basis and given substantial amount of food or even shopping vouchers to visit local shopping places and always offer meal when people arrive aswel as a drink, nobody should have to ask for food especially at a foodbank or anywere else unless they are paying for it in a establishment.
