Great inn a short drive off the main road. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The beer garden is fabulous and has a decent kids area. Plenty of tables outside for eating at as well as drinking. My wife and I had food on the spur of the moment because it looked so good. Wife had scampi and I had gammon, very tasty. Very clean and well managed and also in a lovely peaceful setting.

A few weeks ago my family decided to have lunch at the Tite Inn to celebrate my brother’s 50th birthday. The starter arrived promptly – maybe a little too promptly – but was reasonable. What was decidedly unreasonable was waiting for the main course for nearly an HOUR. Yes an hour. Was the Tite Inn swamped with lunch-goers? No not at all. The issue appeared to be one of staff; or the lack thereof. When the main course did finally arrive, instead of an apology, we were told that the delay was in fact our fault for ordering the fish pie, which takes a long time to prepare! The rest of the food was mediocre, and my steak was tough and overcooked. Then finally, to add insult to injury, the waitress (who was also serving at the bar, and possibly cooking as well (?) spilt a glass of red wine all over my mother and father; the perfect end to an imperfect lunch – all because the individual was overworked and stressed. One wonders if this is the case of a manager trying to save money; and in doing so – steadily ruining a reputation that someone else had worked hard to establish. Eventually the manager was persuaded – begrudgingly – to reduce the bill due to my father’s ruined trousers. All of this of course went quite a long way to ruining - not only our lunch - but our celebration. We do not recommend the Tite Inn and – sadly – won’t be returning.
