Me and my partner went today and didn't really know what to expect. It's a huge warehouse, but inside it's all very easy to look around and navigate, everyone is just calm and chilled, a lot different than going into one of the shops in the city centre! We both ended up coming away with something we absolutely loved and would 100% go again and recommend it to anyone who wants something different or who just wants a fun few hours out exploring!
It’s round the back!! If I’d read the other reviews a bit more closely then we would’ve found it quicker… but it was dark and there where no signs to the place. Ended up getting directions by folks in the Howdens unit!nVisiting from another city, this is the best permanent thift place I’ve been to in the UK so far, the range is great! I will say it’s super important to check each item over as they had some stained/ damaged pieces priced the same as newer comparable pieces, but I understand the difficulty of spotting these faults with such high levels of stock to process.
Came in looking for some bargains and unique items of clothing. We were not disappointed with the array of choice, but unfortunately the actual ability to find what you wanted was incredibly difficult as hardly anything had sizing cubes on. We were there roughly an hour and after sifting through 10+ racks, we only managed to find two things that were the right and true to size.nThe pricing was also pretty high for the type of clothing they sold. Whilst it might be ‘vintage’ items, if it’s visibly damaged or stained, it’s a little unreasonable to charge £35+ for it.nMost items were £25+, so you’ll need a fair bit of cash if you come here and want to grab few items. The best part was the value rail, but no visible sizing on any items, so was a nightmare to go through it all.
Be careful checking the clothes, I bought a bagful for £10 & when I got home, I found that one of the tops, was badly torn. The other items × 4, I bought, were fine though, after a good wash. They don't give refunds, on items from the rummage bins, it's 'sold as seen' . If you like a bargain and don't mind putting in the effort, this is the place for you!! The staff are very helpful, I also bought a lovely cotton thrown, it was slightly damaged but repairable so they knocked a couple of quid off the price. They have lots of original stuff, American imports etc they are closing down shortly, I really hope that they find another premises.
They are doing an excellent job of developing a resource which offers choices for the young and cool, those on a really tight budget 1kg for £10 as well as a walk down memory lane for us older. Well organised, clean, fair and at times cheap prices, helpful staff and environmental ethos of recycling not fast fashion at its core. Epic. Wish we had something as fundamentally conscious up here in London
