Visited this evening for a catch-up with some friends. This was my first time visiting and loved it! From the friendly staff and very welcoming owner to the decor and the stunning food! I picked the 2-course meal from the festival menu and it was damn good! For starters, I had the wild boar and for my mainsee the picture I had the braised belly pork with blue cheese mash. It was stunning. Very well priced for the quantity and quality. The pub itself is a traditional pub with a touch of modernity. The roaring fire just near the entrance was a welcoming sight. Certainly worth several visits! I would suggest booking ahead, we were lucky they were able to accommodate us. You can see why this pub is successful.
We had a lovely valentines day meal, with canopies, starters, sorbet, main course, dessert and teas and coffees. We couldn't be happier with the meal and the service and a nice pint of curious brew always goes down well!
We loved our meal at the Three Tuns. I had the seabass followed by the chocolate fondant. The food was delicious and fresh. The service was fast and friendly and the place has a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.
First time eating there today, I had their seafood platter and my partner had fish chips and mushy peas. Very reasonably priced for both quality and portion sizes. Friendly attentive staff, but not in your face, they timed their table checks perfectly. Great place, with a nice friendly atmosphere.
I loved my visit to The Three Tuns. I stopped off whilst on a bike ride through the beautiful countryside surrounding the village and had a lovely meal and a pint in the garden. Everything went very well and I really enjoyed the food and the surroundings. I opted for a Cajun chicken burger which was very tasty and well worth the money. The staff were very nice and professional and all the timings were spot on service, waiting for food, asking if everything was okay, would I like another drink ,etc. I also enjoyed the music that was being played and I look forward to visiting again sometime soon. Revisited the pub and I am pleased to report that it is just as good if not better than my first visit. I was on a bit of an epic bike ride so I only opted for the Cheesy Chips this time but other people where having main meals and they looked and smelled delicious . There is a reclaimed nature reserve known as The Old Brickworks opposite The Three Tuns. It is well worth a look whilst you are visiting as there are some lovely views of the boats out on the water or maybe in the mud if the tide is out! and of the local church just a matter of metres from the front of the pub and many people walk their dogs there before stopping off in the pub for a pint. As I mentioned before, this is a great pub, highly recommended and I will be back again and hopefully soon!!
We returned here after a glorious experience some weeks before to enjoy Sunday lunch. We were booked to sit in a far corner in the bar which would have been fine but every table had 1-3 dogs and a couple were particularly noisy and this ruined our experience. If it had been explained to us I would not have booked. The roast chicken was disappointing with reheated potatoes and in all it was a very poor experience. Our last meal and dog free lunch was a 9/10 but this much anticipated lunch was more 4/10. It may be a while before we return, such a shame
Lovely pub, great service and excellent meal
We're lucky to be in the same village as this pub and have had 100+ meals there. Food is always lovely, as are the staff. Daily specials are always a treat in addition to the regular menu. It was always busy and you need to book to ensure a table! We highly recommend the pub and food!
Lovely old pub. Beer and food always of an excellent standard and friendly staff. Dog friendly in the bar is a real bonus for us! Recommend to book ahead for a table for food
Lovely food, friendly service. Chips are just wow
