Absolutely stunning location. The lady we dealt with was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. Room was lovely, few little bits could have done with sorting, but nothing that effected our stay. The food on the evening was outstanding, the breakfast was nice as well. My only complaint personal preference is that it was way to warm in the rooms, apart from that I cannot fault the place and would definitely return! Food & drinks: Food was outstanding!
Absolutely fabulous!! Checked in last minute and couldn't be more helpful. Room was amazing and breakfast was sensational!! The lady running the place was first class and totally professional. We chose the upgraded room with jacuzzi bath and a view to die for!! If you are in the area just book in here!! We will be back!! Thank you so much Rooms: Fabulous!
We had a wonderful stay here, helped by the fantastic team! Lovely food, especially delicious breakfast cooked to order. Our dog was also made very welcome. My husband celebrated his birthday while we were here and our daughter sent his card to the hotel, it arrived after we left though. The staff rang us to ask for a forwarding address, and that gives you an example of their service. Highly recommended. Nearby activities: Beautiful scenery all around. Food & drinks: Fantastic breakfast cooked to order.
I stayed here for 3 night's. My room was warm, clean and comfy. The menu choices are good and the portions are massive. Lovely, friendly staff! The rooms could do with a makeover they are outdated. The Bar here is great and I believe they film All creature's great and small about 5 minutes down the road. There is a trout fishing farm next door.
Just return home After Staying five days staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was great room cleaned every day. Fantastic views great location will definitely returnRooms: 5/5
First time staying here and we won't come back. Sadly its the kind of place that obviously used to be nice but is lacking investment. Obviously times are hard in hospitality but this place leaves a lot to be desired. From rooms in desperate need of renovation we stayed in the family room to having to make your own pot of tea at breakfast from a very basic kettle. Quite hostel-like but very much hotel prices. The staff are working incredibly hard and the setting is beautiful but the hotel is very disappointing overall. Photos of the water damaged ceiling and cobweb covered loft hatch. Bathroom was reasonable except for a dubious stain on the bottom of the bath and the shower didn't work very well.
This is one not to miss if your passing or want a very quiet place to walk, relax etc. An idyllic view at the front. Lovely attentive staff and amazing food. The bedroom we had was a lovely size, comfy bed, massive bath. Could do with a few finishing touches here and there and the signal been improved to take it to a definite 5*
Great place to stay for few pints , professional staff. Strongly recommend.Service: 5/5
An amazing place we've discovered on our way home from Scotland! Beautiful surroundings, clean and comfortable room, nice bar/restaurant area, very helpful and friendly staff and delicious homemade food. WiFi comes and goes, not something to complain about !!!! Thank you Sandra for a very welcoming and friendly service! She is an absolute asset to the place! Highly recommended!
Our room was comfortable and spacious, quietly situated with views over the Cragg. Had the internet been available in our room I would have awarded 5 stars. The evening meal menu was reasonably priced and served in the bar area, to accommodate our beagle as dogs are not allowed in the dining room. This was a perfectly reasonable arrangement, the service was attentive and the food appetising.
