Nice old hotel, on main road. Big rooms, adequately sound proofed. Nice to have a room not dominated by a TV screen! Has its own car park, busy in evening but no extra charge. Nice garden and terrace for sitting outside if weather permits. Tesla car charging post which is available for other EVs. The staff were very attentive. We had a good meal when we arrived on Friday for our 5 day stay. Not the cheapest in Malton but the best so far, so we have booked again for our final night.
We had a lovely five night stay at the Talbot. Our De-luxe room was spotless and really comfortable. The room was massive and the over the bath shower was the best of that type I have ever encountered. The food in the restaurant was great, the dinner menu had the classics and some nice specials. Breakfast was freshly cooked and had lovely black pudding. Malton is a good base to explore the local area, either by car or the very good nearby public transport. All in all a great break at the Talbot, made better by the attentive and friendly staff.
We had an eight night stay, arriving as strangers and leaving as friends. Our room 27 on the top floor was big and had a nice bathroom powerful hot shower. The room had lovely furnishings including a Dyson hairdryer, very comfortable large bed. Breakfast had a lot of choice, catering for vegetarians and vegans. Lewis and Ping looked after us very well. We ate dinner in the very nice bar twice. It would have been more but as a vegetarian I had a choice of one meal. Ben looked after us well. If you have mobility issues as I do you would be best having a first floor room. I struggled with two floors. The hotel and grounds are kept very well and we would definitely stay there again.
Nice hotel in the centre of Malton. Rooms were very nice. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and they provided me with an omelette even though it wasn't on the menu. The only problem was the room was too hot. Would go again.
Booked a table for my wife and I while we were staying near Malton. Our evening main meal was a tasty offering and we followed it up with a dessert which was also nice. The Talbot has a rustic feel to it in the restaurant and there is on site parking available.
