Had a fantastic weekend there for the Sausage and Cider festival. Music was brilliant. The campsite was beautiful. Very clean toilets and showers. Toilets always had loo roll lol. Great friendly atmosphere with no trouble whatsoever. Will be staying for a week next year!!!
Lovely camp site, just across the river from this place. They have a good BBQ and pizza menu with an outdoor bar due to return indoors by end Sep apparently. They have really thought about social distancing too.
Absolutely beautiful! Alan and the team look after you from the moment you arrive until check out. We stayed in the teepees and they are decked out for warmth and comfort. Excellent food served in the garden and main bar. Excellent priced and brilliant quality. Highly recommend :
Perfect place to sit and relax right by the Thames. Very easy to follow socially distanced seating bar and food stations are outside. Lovely friendly staff bringing food to you and collect your own drinks from the bar. Lots of seating we turned up at 2pm on a very hot busy Sunday and got a table straight away. I especially love the fact they use compostable ECo plates bowls and cutlery. The woodfired pizza is amazing!!!
Fantastic setting on the river food and service is excellent really relaxing place
We spent a lovely Sunday afternoon here in glorious sunshine listening to a brilliant live singer while eating tasty barbecued food. The staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly, even going so far as to ensure the numerous dog water bowls were kept topped up. Excellent!
This pub wasn’t actively terrible but definitely not worth a visit unless you have no other choices. The location is beautiful and ambiance is quite nice - and the pub is in a beautiful stone building which suits the location. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The bar area smells strongly of toilets which is pretty unpleasant. The beer was OK but selection was small and everything was served in plastic cups which was really wasteful. The white wine was also served at ambient temperature which was pretty poor. The pizzas weren’t great either - they were fairly generic American-style flavours Meat Feast, Spicy Veggie, etc and to be honest I expected a bit more quality for £10+ a pop. There are a couple of alternatives locally in Bampton, Faringdon or Clanfield which are worth a visit instead.
Slow service due to staff shortages. No desserts, no nice coffees. Bit disappointed really. Expensive for the quality of food. Paper dishes, plates, wooden knives and forks. Try cutting a tomato with those! Not overly impressed. The best thing is the location.
Firstly I should mention that we arrived as an ambulance had turned up for a member of staff who had taken ill and we were told that there would be a delay before they started to take orders again. After about 20 minutes what we thought was normal service had resumed and given the circumstances i would have given more stars but customer service was appauling. Eventually left after 2hrs without any sign of our food. Asked twice where our food was, first time we were told that its been busy and I'm sure it's on its way. Second time waitress said she would find out, dissapered then returned to serving other customers without coming back to us. Couple next to us asked for the bill for their food, waitress said she would sort it out, after half an hour they up and left without paying. Another couple on the other side of us arrived about 40 minutes after us but they managed to get their food. I hope that the staff member was OK though but possibly should put all staff members on customer service training.
Stopped for a ice cold drink. Beautiful setting on the side of the river thames. . With a camp site/shop selling icecreams.. perct setting for a stroll and a cold drink...Service: 5/5
