First ever visit but felt like going to a friend's for lunch. Food was basic but tasty enough and nice to get a hot meal with a veggie option... plum crumble was delicious 😁. Decor simple yet inoffensive and very clean. The two ladies did not crowd and were not overly chatty (thank goodness) but were down to Earth, friendly and warm. We will definitely go back. My experience here was in stark contrast to Thomlinsons Cafe and Bunkhouse. I went there on my last visit to Rothbury because of the previous good reviews.. We were treated as though we were imposing... I think if was later in afternoon but well before closing time. I here had a dry veggie sausage in dry bread. No offer of butter or sauce and no garnish... I gave that experience 1 star.
