I visited this shop yesterday. The owner was very helpful... informed me, they make there own tablet and fudge, the shop was clean and tidy. There is so many sweets, i was like a child lost in a sweet shop lol, so many of the old style sweets. I brought a block of the homemade choc fudge for £2.50, and can i say, it taste amazing. I also had some of the choc and mint ice cream, which tasted great.. Would i visit again, yes 100%, would i recomend, again yes 100%
Unique place! Amazing fudge and nougat too. Good to take some energizing snacks there before you go to hike the Mountain nearby
Discovered this shop a couple of years ago and have to say that it is the most authentic of the many high street sweetshops you will find anywhere. Called in yesterday to purchase their home made tablet which is certainly the best I have tasted since I was a kid back in the sixties! The owner was in the shop at the time, who took the time to explain how his products are authentically produced.
A must visit shop in North Berwick for my husband who worked in confectionery many years ago. Range of excellent sweets including his favourite wine gums. Plus man serving on Sundays is great. Polite and funny. Brilliant.
Amazing selection of sweets and a very knowledgeable and friendly owner. I wish I could have stayed to chat but sadly had a bus to catch. Very hard to not buy a bag of each of the sweets!
Can't fault this great wee Sweet shop, fantastic amount of different sweets all with a childhood memory. What makes it even better is the dedication and passion from the owners. All the tablet and fudge is hand made, along with other delights. Would highly recommend all adults in the North Berwick area to visit your childhood via your taste buds and definitely bring your kids for a lifetime of treats . 10/10 ***** 100%
Wonderful shop, terrible for my weight! Their own handmade tablet, fudge, macaroon bars and Edinburgh Rock are amongst the best I've ever had. The cost may not be low, but given the handmade nature and quality, they're very reasonably priced. The friendly & helpful staff are just the coconut on the macaroon.
Visited the shop looking for a well known tablet which the shop owner said he didn't stock. I was dissappointed as over the past 50 years we have bought it when up in North Berwick but he assured me that his own tablet would be better than any other, as he sold his all over Scotland and made 2 tonnes of it per year. A small bag was purchased to test it and I have to say that he was right. It was the best tablet I had ever tasted! I tried a couple of times to see him again whilst on holiday to tell him that he was indeed the best tablet maker. Sadly he wasn't in the shop when we visited but larger bags of tablet were bought and taken home. So if you are reading this.......hats off to you Sir, the creator of the best tablet indeed!!
Kid in a sweet shop, yesss, terrific energy from the owner. This is a must do in North Berwick. I cannot believe there are this many sweet selections, but there is. A quarter of everything please! And ice cream too...
Lovely shop full old sweets and homemade stuff. Only downside was knowing when we got back home after buying a box of shortbread, that these didn't seem homemade but shop bought and put into there own homemade cardboard boxes, which was disappointing given the price we paid for them aswell.
