Sadly very much in decline. Most of the Big Name Brands that used to be there, have now left. More empty units than open seems to be the case. The area is crying out for a shopping centre and this is a great location that just needs investment in it.
A once popular centre ruined by the death of the high-street crisis, not helped by the maintenance, management or even types of stores. I’m making a documentary about this centre, you can find a bit of the trailer below but Google limits it to 30 seconds!
It is an absolute hole.... Managed decline by savills who are in my opinion a disgusting company... Management team who don't have licence to view CCTV are watching the staff like hawks... Security supervisor would be better situated on the bench outside like the other addicts... Allegedly has a painkiller addiction Always asleep on the job.... But doesn't get fired.... Place is spooky because it's so empty except for the resident weirdos shouting and making a show of themselves... Full of scary religious people that approach young children and vulnerable people and scare them away.... Probably best avoided it's like the hills have eyes.... Full of people on bikes and dogs.... Nobody gives a hoot anymore... Don't forget your canoe when it's raining you'll be wetter in there than outside.
Varieties of shops in the mall. It has a post office and other stores such as BnM, Home Bargains and Heron etc., Nice massage chairs, a coffee shop, Gregg's, threading beauty station and barber shop. There's also a fruit n veg stall & food shops like burger king. All inside, which is great when the weather is lousy. Location at heart of the Bootle. Good public transport connectivity.
A skeleton of what was once the place to go and do all your shopping. There are more leaks in the roof there than open shops, fact! There are so many stalls in the middle of the walkways that you have to squeeze past. Idiots riding bikes and bumping into people and no security to do anything. Hardly anyone goes there these days because there is little to go there for. I have nothing good to report apart from well done to the shops that have managed to stay open despite the lack of shoppers. It could be a great place again.
The size of this place just doesn't add up. The ground level size seems a hell of a lot smaller than the upper section. It seems to have endless jut-off areas with more shops. If we had got more time we would have explored more as when you come out of the shopping centre more shops appear. Will definitely visit again when we are in the area
Brilliant shopping centre. Visiting my daughter, so we went for a walk round . It's got so much choice and everything you need. I really like it . I noticed there's alot of quite bad reviews but I was there for a day and trust me , it's so much better than alot of similar centers . Where I live it's got alot of empty shops because the council charge too much and the shops that are there do not serve the community like this one does
Just visited the strand shopping centre. What a tip I tried to park on level 5 which is supposedly the disabled parking no room full of cars without badges in fact one of them used two spaces. When you come across young ones on bikes people vapeing. I asked one of the cleaners about security and was laughed at. I was told the security where so unfit the young ones laughed at them. As two old age pensioner's this is a very dangerous place for people like us to shop something needs to be done but reading other comments it's jobs for mates so no chance of that happening
A lot of shops are gone from the Strand so don't expect much. They are refurbishing so places have moved and may not be where you think if you are a returning customer. There are a few cafés but not much in the way of food really.
The place is rather dirty and dilapidated, with quite a few outlets closed or refurbished. Also, there are usually some drunks/beggars/vagrants around the entrance. Not your favourite, happy, family shopping destination, to be honest.
