Saturday evening dining Al fresco at Stones on the first warm weather in May was a delight! Delicious food, tapas-style, friendly service. Parking: There is a private car park but it can be awkward if you have a bigger bar. Usually parking on street in the evening.
Gorgeous outside area and excellent location! However £10.85 for two coffees is a bit steep. Changing from cows milk to oat shouldn’t be such a big price difference. Other better value cafes in the village.Service: 3/5
I must confess, I'm a regular. Over the years, Stones has proven to be consistently good for breakfast, lunch and now early doors on a Friday and Saturday for small plates. I take so many clients and partners here, so it's good for business too. It's like so many small businesses that on some days it must be so tough and customers in hospitality can be so unforgiving, particularly from the safety of their own keyboard rather than giving feedback in the moment. They work hard, they are consistent, quality, high integrity operators and their cakes .... well don't miss out! A definite recommend from me. Hope you'll try it and agree.
Fabulous place, great cakes and the staff are brilliant. We had a family of 10 having tea/coffee & cakes and everything was perfect. Thank You xFood: 5/5
Caesar salad + capo and fresh orange. Stones is really the high mark in Heswall, tucked away marvellousness. Want a no risk lunch .. this is the place.

I went in for breakfast and ordered the pancakes with fruit which includes raspberries, strawberries and blueberries. The first time I was served, the pancakes were fine and the strawberries and blueberries were good but the raspberries were all mouldy inside. Upon calling a waitress over I informed her that the raspberries were mouldy to which she replied, "Oh, well we got them from the shop this morning". She then apologised and offered to make me a new meal. When she brought it over, I could tell that it had been rushed because the pancakes weren't cooked through and once again, the raspberries were all mouldy. I called the same waitress over and told her about the situation to which she apologised and offered to make me another one. I politely declined, got up and left. Poor.
Have to start by saying how warm and accommodating the staff were. Made a big fuss of my mum and her pug. Looked after us really well. The cooked breakfast was faultless. Fresh ingredients cooked really well. Finished off with scones which were delicious. I would recommend this cafe to anyone. Dogs are allowed in the outside seating area for any dogwalkers passing. Give it a try.
Went for a family brunch. Menu choice was excellent, covering from the smallest to the biggest appetites!! Parking: Parking at side of and behind the Café.
A warm welcome in a lovely setting. Great menu choice. Meals well presented and fIavoursome. Generous portions so no room for the delicious array of cakes on offer. A little oasis to get away from the hustle and bustle. A return visit already planned.
