Went for Red Raw on Tuesday and it was a great laugh. Great crowd and stand up comedians, highly recommend if you’re looking for something to do on a Tuesday evening. Beers were good too! Come early unless you’re up for front row seats.
Incredible value for money at The Stand. Arrive early to have a choice of seating. Bar is well staffed and moves quickly. Seating is compact but not overdone. It’s a great night out and handy for local pre and post drink options.
Friday night shows are really good! Decent bar selection. Staff are really helpful. Go early to get a decent seat
Usually very good nights here, but certain staff I don’t know if all upon entry are very pedantic about filling up the floor first. We’re regulars here and to be made to sit somewhere you don’t want to when the venue is so small anyway smacks of jobsworthiness, rather than just letting adults who are paying £12 a ticket choose to sit in a preferred place. Nobody is gonna get crushed to death or riots break out by someone sitting in a place 3 feet away from where you’re being coercively ushered to. On the plus side, the comedy is great and that’s what we’re here for ultimately, but the treatment does leave a sour taste.
Great live entertainment. Red Raw on Tuesdays is excellent comedy at a very inexpensive price. Best value comedy in Scotland!
Visited for the Tuesday Red Raw show this week. The comedy itself was enjoyable with a good range of acts. However, the reason for the low rating is that we had prior to attending booked for a table of four due to one of our party having accessibility issues, only to arrive at the venue and be told only a table for three had been reserved, meaning our group could not all be together. There was no apology whatsoever from the staff member on the door, who was extremely rude and simply stated there was no other seats available, that was it. It's not acceptable to not account for people with accessibility issues, especially when these have been raised prior to arrival. I contacted The Stand after by email and received a response that it was an administrative error, but no acknowledgement regarding the poor service from the staff member, or that they failed to cater to someone with an accessibility issue. A "hope you had a good night otherwise" response was all that was given.
Always a good laugh. I hadn't been for years and not much has changed except the bar. I was looking forward to a can of Red Stripe and they no longer do it unfortunately. Get there early at or before doors opening to get a seat as it's a small place and fills up quickly on a Saturday night.
If you've never been its worth the visit. Lots of great comedy talent, you will always be close to the action. Alcohol nice as well prices doable. Whats not to like.
I love the stand. My fiance and I go every so often for date night. It's always a good laugh. Very intimate place, so you always have a good view. The only negative is that if you want a seat, you have to go early.
Cosy, intimate venue with cool decor. Doesn't sell coffee so had to go back out and get one to take in. The lovely staff directed me to the nearest coffe shop. My daughter loved the magic show anyway :
