Decent priced as we used a Groupon. Loved the starter vegetable and samosas - real crispy and lovely dips paired. The mains were a nice as well; loved 3 out of 4 but that’s more of a taste preference. Decent sized food. Would have loved larger prawns in the prawn curry as it was a pain to fish them out when we didn’t need the rest of the sauce. Staff are very friendly, offered high chair for the little one. they let us bring along a birthday cake for granny, even put candles in for us.
Quite honestly one of the best Indian cuisine Restaurants we have ever been in, we were the very first customers of the night sunday and we're still the only customers when we left, but a steady stream of walk in guests called to pick up their take-away meals, the food was definitely freshly cooked most especially the chicken tikka was so moist and fragrant I was very impressed by the whole experience and we were using a Groupon though did supplement it with a few sundries from the a-la-carte menu. I would recommend this restaurant if you like good friendly service of tasty and freshly cooked food. We are going again this week for our second visit.
Beautiful food presentation! The restaurant interior is bit aged. Overall, a good place for Indian food.
The staff were friendly when we first arrived, happy to rearrange furniture to make room for us and took orders for drinks quickly. The food is okay, not the best curry in Dorchester. Trying to pay for part of a bill didn't go down well with staff, it's not particularly difficult to sum up items from the menu instead of the paper order slip, but apparently this was too much to ask. I'd expect less attitude for trying to pay.
Well what can I say about this restaurant. From the moment we entered the building, we were greeted with a very friendly manner. We were seated very quickly and our drink order taken. The waiter was very accommodating and friendly. The food is out of this world. We ordered several dishes and each one had defined flavours and textures. We are not local to the restaurant but we will certainly be returning.
Think of this place as the McDonald's of Indian food. We had the Wednesday night buffet. Probably 6 main dishes. A couple of rice dishes and a single appetizer like dish. Pretty basic and uninspiring salad. The same could be said for the service. There was nothing offered that would elicit a 'wow' from anyone. I wouldn't discourage a visit. Just don't visit with high expectations.
Ordered from spice centre through deliveroo, our order arrived about 45 minutes later. We realised that our 2 pilau rice was missing, so I called them up straight away and they said they would send some out and it will be with us in 10-15. 30 minutes later still nothing had arrived so I called them back and they asked for my number and said they'd call me back in 5 minutes. 25 minutes later and we had no call from them so I called them back twice could be just a coincidence but they didn't answer either of my calls which was from the number I gave them and then when I called from my partners phone they asnwered. They offered to give us "free" food the following day but I refused and then they offered to refund the rice but I explained that I would want a full refund as our curry that we had left to eat with our rice was now cold so we wouldn't be eating that. They then offered to send out our full order again and it would arrive in 50 minutes time I asked for a discount as we ordered our food 2 hours ago and we have been waiting over and hour just for the rice they forgot. The they said they would give us some extra things instead... the order arrived just over an hour later with everything we originally ordered and payed for and the extra things they said they would give us for now waiting a total of about 3 hours was 2 cans on diet coke... absolutely rubbish.
Friendly people. Tired looking restaurant. £47 for two main courses, a rice, a naan, 4 popodoms, 1 portion of onion bhaji, 1 lemonade £6! and 1 magners. Very expensive in our opinion and the food was all very, very sweet.
Have just had one of the best Indian meals we've had in a very long time, excellent food and service, only other comment I have would be not to eat much before your Indian .
I've had many curries from many counties as a great fan of Indian food.. I don't generally write reviews but I felt I had to.. for The Spice Centre in Dorch. This, for me is one of the best. The tandoori dishes have a real great Smokey flavour . I wouldn't be surprised if they have a clay Tandoor Excellent balance of spices on in the Pathia and the King Prawn Puri is we'll worth the money Friendly happy staff too so I highly recommend trying Thank you so .ich guys
