Every now and again I Pop in this boozer for a Guinness and bit of munch, always satisfied after leaving, food is very nice, tasty and filling! cod and chips and a nice pud for afters does the job, shout out to the waitress named Carly who took my order poured my Guinness and gave me extra mayo, good bants as well. Looking forward to stuffing my face again, hopefully when the sun's out so I can eat in the garden.
A very nice looking pub tucked away down a quiet lane,we booked it because we could take our two dogs. My food was stone cold, even the sauce in the tiny saucepan was gloopy because it was cold it wouldn't pour, brocoli was so overcooked, should not of been served at all, really disappointed, portions were small prices were high, everything ordered on our table there were 5 of us that had been deep fat fried was hot and good, but everything else I wouldn't bother, olives were straight out of a jar, artisan breads were 2 slices of tiger loaf toasted and cut in half, nothing artisan,.the drinks menu good and imaginative, puddings were good, toilets could be cleaner,no toilet paper in my friends cubicle, radiator leaking with a plastic ice cream container catching water on the floor,I wouldn't go back for food, but definitely drinks in the garden as a pretty location..
Delicious food however let down by lack of cleanliness. Tables, floor dirty. Toilets awful, no toilet paper, hand dryer not working and no hand towels! However best burger I've had in a long time both normal burger and gluten free were equally goodFood: 5/5
An out of the way pub, very close to a nice walk by the river. The pub had plenty of capacity indoors and a beer patio outside. The car park is small at lunchtimes, but there is another public car park around the corner. We booked in advance, but when we got there the table had been given to someone else. Fortunately there was space on another table, but the view wasn't as good and we had to wait for it to be readied. The waiter was quite young so there was a little wait for him to get round to us, but when he did come over he was quite friendly. We all had roast dinners, mine was a belly pork roast was pretty tasty and had a hilariously crispy crackling on top of it. There was a trio of roasts, and a beef combi dish with a small steak and some toast beef; everyone thought their food was tasty. Decent amounts of veg and gravy too.
Tonight the service was a little slow which is not the norm but with very good reason and nevertheless we were given the best quality food and the right amount of attention. Absolutely impressed by the waitress dealing with all tables and patrons on that side of the venue. 6 out of 5 stars for Me Beautiful venue. Pet friendly. Amazing! Super super highly recommend to anyone and everyone making there way throigh Bourne end. Well done!
Fantastic meal at this pub last night . The waitress Lauren was calm and efficient. The beef dumpling was a new and delicious starter, and the lotus biscoff chocolate bomb was heavenly. The pub is in such a good location right by the river and there is a good size car park . We were here celebrating our anniversary, and the team made us feel special.
We visited The Spade Oak on Fathers Day and, as you might expect, every table was full. The waiting staff were, therefore, a little stretched, but coped admirably, and the food was definitely worth waiting for.Food: 5/5
Went to this amazing restaurant with my work mates : it was amazing . The food, atmosphere and the whole ambiance was the best. I particularly loved the duck salad which was refreshing and very succulent! Compliments to chef Hakim! Would definitely have that again next time
There is a new menu here and unfortunately the one dish I really like- a salad bowl - is no longer on it. Shame as the panzanella salad offered now is vastly overpriced for what little is in it. Especially as there were no croutons ie panzanella, in it. Despite this being mentioned, no discount and only a weak apology. Not very impressed
MAR 2023 The new front of staff was outstanding. The steaks were delicious - only improvement I would suggest are hand cut chips as opposed to oven chips. Had a few of cocktails which were ok. FEB 2023 Outstanding service all round! Overall Sunday Roasts were delicious and we're delivered in a flash! Duo of Beef - Short Rib was outstanding and sirloin was ok. Trio of Roast - Pork was epic especially the crackling. Chicken delicious. Sirloin ok. Trimmings and gravy were on point. Portion sizes were perfect. Merlot was nom I'll definetly be back for Sunday Lunch!
