See photo. Bins overflowing, other bin bag full of rubbish next to full bin for entirety of our stay 2 hours, gate to stop children escaping left wide open 15 mins and 3 staff members with nobody to serve just sitting chatting.nnProbably just a weekend job for these young staff, the issue is clearly a management one in that they have no guidance in how to run something properly.nnEvery light fitting, corner, exposed pipe or conduit absolutely caked in dust, like 5cm worth.nnMediocrity at its finest.
Honest ReviewnI’m hoping this is constructive rather than just destructive, because this could be a really good health and fitness space — if anyone actually cared enough to run it properly.nnPutting membership prices up while delivering an even worse service should be illegal. The complete lack of ownership, pride, and basic standards is obvious the moment you walk in.nnPositivesnnQuiet during off-peak times, so you can get a decent workout.nnSome of the class instructors are genuinely good, positive, and motivational.nnNegativesnnThe place is a dump. The changing rooms smell like urine and body odour. About 75% of the lockers are locked with no keys. We were told they’d be cleared out in December 2025 — unbelievable.nnThe floor constantly floods with shower water, then people walk through with muddy trainers, so it’s permanently filthy.nnA bench in the changing room is broken. The “fix”? Some filler slapped on and hoped for the best.nnThe gym floor equipment is dirty, unorganised, and poorly maintained. There’s zero staff presence to clean, manage, or engage with members.nnMultiple machines treadmills, cross trainers, bikes have been broken for over two months with no sign of repair.nnThe WiFi and speaker system barely work. Music cuts out or stops completely, leaving you in a soulless, dirty gym with awful lighting.nnThe temperature is either freezing or boiling whenever the “AC isn’t working” which seems to be often.nnThe café is depressing and uninspiring. It could be a great recovery and social space, but instead it needs ripping out and starting again — proper barista, smoothies, and healthy options would transform it.nnFinal ThoughtsnnI seriously question what checks are in place on the management of this club. The lack of attention to detail, basic hygiene, and general standards is getting worse — while prices go up.nnThe saddest part is that with proper investment and competent management, this could be a thriving, profitable gym that people actually enjoy using.nnRight now, you’re better off spending £25–30 at PureGym or a similar chain that offers consistency, cleanliness, and basic professionalism.nn1 star is generous. If I could give 0.5, I would.nDo better — and take some pride in the absolute car crash you’re currently running.
Poor value and ineffective lessonsnnWe’re very disappointed with Mytime Active swimming lessons at The Spa. For a 25-minute lesson, our two children get around 3–4 minutes of actual swimming time each. The rest of the session is spent sitting poolside waiting, swimming one length, then waiting again.nnThis is not cost-effective and not an effective way to teach swimming. Progress is extremely slow, and the children come back cold due to long waits and the pool temperature.nnDespite emailing Amy Harvey, we’ve had no resolution. Even more concerning, our eldest child has been in the same group since September 2024 — it’s now 2026, with no clear progression or explanation. I have completed the feedback forms, and as yet, no contact. My next step is formal complaint to the LA and Trading.nnWe wouldn’t recommend Mytime Active for swimming lessons. Unfortunately, the only reason we’ve stayed is the lack of local options for three siblings at the same time. Though more recently, we are now considering pulling all three.
I would say it’s a particularly unfriendly environment, not a safe space if you want to go in and have any human interaction, it’s fine at extremely off peak hours , But also it’s not particularly clean any of the time In the Gym and both locker areas especially . . I cancelled my membership after 2 months . As I found it hostile there - no rapport or civil basics / acknowledgment even in response when entering exiting the gym or building and those things make a difference. Hot water and toilets don’t work either as well as the swimwear dryer doesn’t work
Changing rooms are filthy. Worst changing room and shower area I have ever been to. And the pool is very high price. Actually more expensive for a swim than the olympic pool aquatics centre in Stratford. I don't understand how they can charge such a high price when the changing rooms look like something out of a zombie apocalypse film.
