Visited here for lunch one weekend in October. We had variations of the Sunday Roast and traditional options such as Fish and Chips. The Turkey was by far the best roast option! Staff were friendly and attentative, and the food was on the whole good. It wasn't that busy although it is a big pub with plenty of tables. The pub is also dog friendly. There is seating outside too and plenty of parking. Worth a visit.
Visited for a works Christmas Party, food was absolutely delicious and the service was friendly and attentive, my only slight complaint was that they had run out of several food options including the Turkey Christmas dinner which is what we all had wanted! I wouldn't have minded so much but I had specifically called the week before and asked if we needed to pre-order and was told that it wasn't necessary! We would go again but would definitely ask to pre-order next time to avoid disappointment. I would still recommend as the food we did end up with was fantastic just not what we really wanted.
Went in on Sunday for roast to this wonderful place. Friendly greeting upon arrival, Alexa went about and beyond to respond to us quicky, was very polite, friendly and provided a great service. The roast was delicious I tried the trio roast and all the meats were cooked perfectly along with delicious veg. We are very pleased with the attention and service we received - really nice place to stop off at.
We were driving the coast heading west and decided not to stop in Brighton because it was way too busy. Luckily we came across this pub on the water. It has fantastic views and the inside is as charming as the outside. Food was great, but did need some salt. Overall, great experience.
Amazing meal, beautiful location, exceptional service, and very dog friendly. We visited on Sunday lunchtime without a reservation and the staff were really apologetic that there were no tables inside. We sat out on the deck and it was perfect. Extraordinary views over the sea, both shaded and sunny areas to sit in, comfortable seating, and enclosed enough to let the dog have some freedom. The meals were lovely, large portions, and just a little over £100 for 2 courses for 4, with drinks. You can order from the app at the table or go inside to order in person. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, brought more drinks and gravy to the table, and water for the dog when asked. It was all clean and they cleared up as soon as someone left. So pleased we found this place and looking forward to visiting in the summer.
Nice environment inside. Restaurant was closed on a Saturday, lack of staff. The controlled parking is gone, which is good. On the bar it advertises, crisps, olives and nuts. Thought that would be nice, expecting a coupe of bowls on a wood board, but no. Olives were nice, but was handed a tiny pack of nuts, so got my own bowl, but barely a mouthful filled the tiny bowl. The nuts were £1.50, Olives £2.20 and a small bag of crisps £1.60!!!!!! So £5.30 for pack of crisps, pack of nuts and a few olives. We got a pint of doom bar, small lime soda, olives and one bag of. Nuts, cost £10. Dog friendly and free dog treats, so you could eat those I guess!
Lovely festive vibe and really warm inside with fires burning. 2 for £12 festive cocktails, these are Gingerbread Expresso Martini's. Really good service, really friendly and welcoming staff. Recommend a visit and will definitely be going back. *** went back again recently and they did not disappoint. Food was lovely & service was good. We all enjoyed our food and the experience ***
Nice place to sit outside at the Cliffs. Plenty of seating inside and out. You need to order at the bar. Good selection of beer and drinks. Lunch specials are under 10£. My beef sandwich was fine but not great.
service was pretty slow we had to keep asking to be served but it is sunday service so it’s understandable but there was just so much that went wrong lol. Prepare for the list: there was camembert missing from the camembert bites, they forgot one of our starter, and there was tissue stuck to my plate, forgot to give us new cutlery after our starters, forgot drinks, cauliflower wasn’t cooked properly, the roast was bland. I’m really trying not to be a nag but these are the basics It took them 15 minutes to bring the card machine even after they were quiet, just shocking
Wonderful cliff top location with ample parking. Staff were friendly, food was of the usual high quality you expect from vintage inns. Mains well priced but desserts are a little pricey, but they are tasty. Great views from the decked beer garden, although we elected to eat in. Clean plates all around from us. Highly recommended, unfortunately we were not able to return for a second meal as the police had the road closed due to an accident. Restaurant were understanding due to the situation when we had to cancel.
