Great hospitality - owner/operator and it shows. Food was amazing on new years eve. Oysters full of flavour, Squid succulent and tasty, Calves liver cooked to perfection. Homely, comfortable, good value - why can't all pubs be like this!
Top quality food with amazing & friendly staff. Highly recommended!
Good food done well. New owners are really putting their all in to reviving this lovely village pub. Still a few tweaks needed but I'll definitely be back! It may be due to Covid, but the single serve sauce sachets were a shame as they are disposable might be better to decant large bottles into washable pots, per table? but we enjoyed the burger and the Pimms!
Genuinely one of the worst pubs I’ve been too. Staff were both unwelcoming and unpleasant. Childrens chicken and chips came as two deep fried nuggets, a tiny amount of food. The fish and chips was thick, soggy batter. The whole experience was awful. I will never return to this pub.
Cute country pub, very nice decor inside and decent sized pub garden at back. Food was tasty, and lovely house fizz English sparkling wine
The Six Bells team provided a lovely afternoon tea for a wake for a special lady. Olivia could not have been more helpful to get everything right for me, and chef, Luke, did a wonderful job with some delicious food. We gathered in the events room which has doors to the garden which couldn't have been more perfect.
We chose the Six Bells for an overnight stay on a cycling weekend as it was only a couple of miles off our route and the staff were so welcoming. They enabled us to store our E-bikes in their function room, which was not in use that evening, and recharge our batteries. Our room had everything we needed including a bath in the bathroom, which was delightful for soak after a long day in the saddle. We ate in their conservatory restaurant; padron peppers and chef's salad, followed by perfectly cooked stone bass, and then an autumn crumble and Eton mess. The quality of the food was excellent. And breakfast did not disappoint - included in the cost of our room, a full English breakfast with very good sausage and bacon, black pudding, eggs however you wanted them cooked, beans, mushrooms and tomatoes. Thoroughly recommended.
Warm welcome, lovely rooms and a very nice pit stop after a busy week. Service friendly, excellent, rooms just right. Highly recommended. I will be back.
Went for their new coffee and pastries from 9am Friday - Sunday. Warm welcome, good selection of drinks.
Went for dinner at The Six Bells for the first time last night and it was honestly delightful. The locals were welcoming and friendly on arrival. Two for £10 on cocktails on a Friday evening with a great selection of imaginative and decent quality cocktails. They have a nice selection on the food menu, the chef obviously puts a lot of love into his creations and this reflects in the taste… the tartare sauce was some kind of Witchery going on- it was so good, batter on the fish was light and crispy and the chips were the bomb. Service was prompt, friendly and just the right level of attentiveness. Will hopefully return for live music and to try out the locally grown rhubarb and crumble pud!
