We don’t know the area but thought we would try this place. We thought we may have been under dressed to start with, but they made us very welcome. Service was excellent and the food to die for. Wine and beer was good too. Very reasonably priced considering the quality and standard. Will be back next year.
At the Shropshire inn we pride ourselves on using as much locally sourced produce as possible, from vegetable suppliers to our butcher who not only rears but butchers his own cattle no more than twenty miles from Haughton. When the season allow head chef will source from local farms to get produce such as fresh quail eggs and raspberries and during the season wonderful asparagus. We purchase our fish from a local supplier who buys direct from Birmingham fish market on daily basis. As a prominent restaurant in Haughton it is essential we support the local farming community and other producers to help continue the growth of the industry as a whole.
Our first visit to Shropshire Inn was a lovely experience. The service and atmosphere were great and the food was amazing. We had the best steaks, cooked to perfection. Would highly recommended and will definitely return.
Visited for Lunch with my Mom. The Guy who looked after us was friendly, welcoming and gave a very good service in lovely surroundings! Both my Moms and My Meal were beautufull! We both cleared our Plates and even managed to find room for a really lovely Dessert too!!! All round Lunch was very enjoyable experience! Thank you very much

Great quality food in very pleasant surroundings, dropped one star as we seemed to have been forgotten after asking for the bill and waited a while to pay. We were practically the last there or I would have assumed it was because they were busy. Overall a great experience

We visited 'The Shropshire Inn' yesterday evening. Wow what a wonderful meal! The new Chefs have been working there for 4 weeks, offering really high end cuisine in Haughton.. give them a try!! Highly recommended.
Great place with good food... this was my starter... YUMMY Roast fig, cambozola, prosciutto ham, grapes, pear and balsamic nuts
No-one in the restaurant when we arrived and had to go in search of staff - not very welcoming! Menu is over fussy and wordy. Starter was minute and smaller than my appetizer. Pie of the day was ok with lots of vegetables whereas the other was again very small. Style over substance, ditto for desserts. We weren't asked if we'd like more drinks at any time, not offered coffee
