Great to find this gem on our doorstep, having recently moved to the area & having no local knowledge our first port of call was The Ship. Kevin & his staff are lovely , the locals friendly and even Roody the pub's dog gave us a welcome. The Ship is a place we re visit weekly , taking our friends occasionally who also love the place. We have tried the bar food & eaten in the restaurant both are great. A Sunday roast there is so good , but save room for the desert , all fresh & home made ..... perfect. A big thumbs up to Kev & his crew :-

Well, what can we say about our Sunday lunch at the Ship? Kevin is the perfect host, made time to sit with us and talked about what he has invested in the pub and restaurant. He has every reason to be proud. We were impressed and believe me, it takes quite a lot to impress us. Our beef Sunday lunch was very nice and tasty and VERY large. The sweet one of us had, and shared, was absolutely lovely. We will definitely be crossing the Ship's threshold again when we are very hungry. Well done Kevin and thank you.
I have to say that Kevin and his great staff have really pushed the boat lol out this time. The service in this place is second to none and the food was superb. Never in my life have I been faced with such a huge plate of food; and it's not just quantity. It's quality. I loved the cauliflower cheese and the home made HUGE Yorkshire puds. I'm not joking. I'm coming here every Sunday from now on. Well done Kevin keep it up!
My partner and I had dinner here tonight and it was worth every penny Our compliments to the chef who cooks everything fresh Not frozen. The landlord Kevin and his staff Make you welcome. Will definitely definitely eat here again. Thanks guys for a really good Halloween party too!1
