Update: I was back in Falmouth for some more work, and visited The Shed again for a late lunch. Cornish Sausages and Battered Squid for our starters, followed by Beef Brisket and Catch of the Day Sole for main courses. For desserts we had New York Cheesecake and an Affogato. As with my previous visits, all excellent dishes. Original review: My second visit to The Shed in two days. Superb service from friendly staff, delivering excellent food. There's dining inside, and some outdoor seating, protected from any breeze by some glass panelling: it was late March but sunny so I ate outside on both occasions. I had a burger on my first visit superb! and then the beef brisket sandwich on the second. It comes as two large but not too thick slices of sourdough around juicy brisket and some pickles, with sauce and cheese oozing from the sides, accompanied by some tortilla chips and coleslaw. Absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area.
Went there a bit early for our reservation, only to be told that they were a chef short, which was nobody's fault, however when we returned for our booking time all of the specials were sold out. We eventually sit at a table of our choice and when it comes to ordering, there is a sticker on the table that specifically tells us to order at the bar, which we go to do, only to be told rather rudely, by whom we can only assume was a manager "to sit down and the girl in green" will take our order. By no fault of her own, as she was left to manage the outside area on her own, it took her a good 15 minutes to get over to us. The drinks were amazing! Cannot fault them at all. The starters were lovely and were relatively quick to arrive at our table. However, things took a turn for the worst when the mains arrived. Between starter and mains nearly an hour had passed, many other people had arrived, ordered and eaten in this time. We had ordered 2 chicken burgers and a beef brisket. The chicken burgers were edible and mediocre. They were very greasy, the cheese sauce was meh, it had obviously been sat there a while, and the chips were on the borders of cooked and raw. The beef brisket was a massive let down. Having had it many times before, all across the world, this was by far the driest, leatheriest, chewiest brisket I have ever seen. It was awful and was more burnt than "cooked". We signalled to the waitress and she was more than helpful, she immediately removed it, to which the same, blunt manager came over to us. We ordered another chicken burger in replacement, which turned up in less than a minute, along with a remark from the manager that we had "taken another tables order". Not impressed at all. He then kept hovvering about making sure that we were eating, rather strange seeing as he had not been outside since we told him the brisket was awful. We were going to order a dessert, but by the time the mains had arrived and we had eaten, the kitchen had closed. Overall, I would never eat here again, save your time and go to pizza express or a different restaurant in the same little area. Same atmosphere, better food.
It was BH Monday so no surprise the place was packed. We managed to get outside table and waited about 40min for our meals. Very nice touch, while waiting, a nice waitress offered complimentary snacks! Well done! Our burgers were amazing! So fresh and delicious! Highly recommend
Wonderful food, excellent service and interesting view watching skilled chefs at work.Food: 5/5
Popped in on a Friday evening to see if they had an space for four of us. They managed to fit us in a booth - which the kids loved. We ordered a range of starters to share and they were all great. The main courses were fantastic. We didn't try the desserts as we didn't have room next time! The service was really good and the food was prepared excellently and pretty quickly. If I was being nitpicky - we had to ask for the bill twice before we got it... But it's a minor complaint. Recommend! Parking: There is a car park as part of the same complex and also lots of other car parks in the area.
Went to Falmouth with my partner and our 2 kids as we had never been there before. We received such a warm welcome from a young lady last Monday afternoon, didn't get her name but she was very helpful and attentive when we asked about available food for my oldest girl who has allergies. The food was simply amazing and will certainly stop there again on our next visit to Falmouth.
Had heard good things about the Sunday lunch, so booked for the family and must admit I was disappointed. There were five of us and two had ordered the half chicken each, they got a leg, a thigh and a few small chunks of what was probably breast between them, I had the beef and it was fairly tough, my son ordered the pork and no crackling was seen at all. I was told the stuffing was gluten free and ate it, to then be told it wasn't. When the vegetables arrived, there were really only enough for two or three people at a stretch. The service was almost non-existent, I had to attract the attention of someone each time we wanted anything. Spent almost £200 and won't be going again.
Absolutely amazing. Dined here with a group of friends for a birthday celebration and what an amazing meal we had. Staff was super friendly and the service was quick and easy. The food was out of this world with beautiful presentation and awesome flavours. Highly recommended.
Lovely open sandwich, fresh fish and service was attentive, polite and professional. Menu looks like one you'd want to explore each visit. Will return I'm sure.Food: 5/5
One of the best burgers I've had! Amazing food. Would come back to falmouth just to dine at this resturant again. 10 out of 10!!!
