The Shard’s viewpoint offered one of the most unforgettable experiences of my London trip. Rising high above the city, the panoramic views from the top were absolutely breathtaking, with landmarks like Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and the London Eye all laid out below me. It felt incredible to see the city from such a unique and awe-inspiring perspective.nnWhat made it even more special was the calm yet thrilling atmosphere at the top. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows provided perfect views in every direction, and the entire visit was smooth, comfortable, and well-organized. The Shard’s viewpoint gave me a magical new way to appreciate London, and it’s truly a must-see.
My Visit to The Shard, LondonnnMy visit to The Shard was an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of my trip to London. Standing at 310 meters, it’s the tallest building in the UK, offering breathtaking 360° views of the city from its viewing decks on the 69th and 72nd floors. The modern glass design by architect Renzo Piano is a true masterpiece that perfectly captures London’s blend of history and innovation.nnThe high-speed lift ride to the top was smooth and exciting, and once there, the panoramic views were incredible — I could see landmarks like Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the London Eye, and the River Thames stretching for miles.nnVisitor Tips: It’s best to book tickets online in advance, especially for sunset visits. Try to go on a clear day for the best visibility, and don’t forget your camera. There are also fine dining options and a cocktail bar if you’d like to enjoy the skyline longer.nnHow to Reach: The Shard is located at 32 London Bridge Street, London SE1 9SG, right next to London Bridge Station Northern and Jubilee lines and easily accessible by train or bus.nnOverall, The Shard offers an amazing way to see London from above — a must-visit attraction that combines spectacular views, modern design, and a touch of luxury.
An unforgettable afternoon in the sky!nnWe booked our tickets in advance for the afternoon slot and upgraded to the champagne option on arrival. From the photo booth to the high-speed lift, everything was smooth and quick.nnThe staff were fantastic, and we had plenty of time to enjoy the experience at our own pace. It wasn’t too crowded, so we could take some incredible photos and soak in the breathtaking view of London from 246 meters above the city.nnWe even ordered a second drink, thanks to the super-friendly bartender – a perfect touch to end the visit.nnA brilliant bar, stunning views, and an experience truly worth your time and money. This is a London must-do!
We my wife and I visited 'THE SHARD,' Shangri-la Shard on a pre-booked two night staycation Sat.18/10/25 to Sun.19/10/25on our 45th SAPPHIRE WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. We visited two restaurants the Aqua Shard Saturday evening 18/10/25, and Hutong restaurant Sunday evening 19/10/25 plus the TING restaurant two mornings for breakfast Sunday morning 19/10/25 and Monday morning 20/10/25. The overall experience an unforgettable one, the staff super efficient, very warm, kind, friendly and smiling, really make you SO welcome with a service provided 'second to none '. The food, service of all three restaurants Aqua Shard, Hutong, Tin tea room restaurants were chic panache, hygenic, modern in every aspect. All vista views of the whole of London can be seen at most from wherever you view inside from the floors or our room. Our room no.3902 on the 39th floor Shangri-la Shard facing north over the City, East and North London captures and engulfs you in the most magnificent scenes. All floors connected to the most swift and smoothest lifts in each shaft, some direct to one floor only. For the Disabled , and my dear wife is in this group, all entrances, most rooms, doors, toilets, lifts, access and corridors to the reception, amenities and restaurants well provided and connected. We 'LOVED' our large spacious room we consider the best, and with a shower/ toilet inclusive,a large comfortable bed, TV wi-fi facilities, all ovetlooking the City skyline and River Thames below from the huge tall glass windows.. ..in fact we would opt for this room again if ever we return...hopefully and very likely on that special occasion. The whole complex is a world class international global tourist attraction and staycation of the most highest order in all manor of standards. A must to experience despite the very expensive stay...but that considered it also justifies what you experience and take home with you the best of memories. For me personally, and my wife too, the Shard and we have been here before three visits to the public gallery.. inspired us to book here one day in what we say...'our No.1 favourite London landmark. I can only describe...' a brief wholesome taste and experience of the high life, and like a glimpse of a lifetime journey to the stars and back'. I must also mention the buzzing lively atmosphere and brilliant music well captured within the Aqua Shard, Hutong restaurants and the cool calmness of the Tin restaurant in the morning. Tin restaurant in the Shangri-la Shard 35th floor.has a brilliant choice of breakfast, super efficient polite staff with a smile waiting to greet and welcome you and eagerly ready to serve. Plus I enjoyed a privileged swim in the highest swimming pool 1.3 metres deep 52nd floor Shangri-la Shard in Europe, to start the day at 0600am opening time. A sauna, changing room, shower room if required is available also on the 52nd floor, plus a brilliant gymnasium too. So happy in celebration of our Sapphire Wedding Anniversary spent here, TOTALLY ENJOYED EVERY ASPECT! ....and yes, LOVE TO RETURN all well being with us in health in the future hopefully. My rating..well if there is such a score...A1 and 20 out of 10.. 100 per cent PAR EXCELLANCE ALL THE SHARD AND SHARD SHANGRI-LA. Our massive thanks to all the wonderful loving staff we met here and made our Sapphire 45th Wedding Anniversary so special....the ultimate human best in service and kindness to wife and I was shown in one of the world most iconic buildings, another world indeed. ...UNFORGETTABLE YOU ALL ARE!!! WORLD CLASS! ....Patricia and Chris wish you all the very best in the future...and a special mention to waitors JORGE at the Aqua Shard restaurant; Alan at the Hutong restaurant, and Reception manager Tyrone and Dumi at the Shangri-la reception desk, and also to all the security/ door staff at the Shangri-la and lovely Maria...so loving, kind and helpful to us both in our departure Monday 20/10/25 1300pm. From Patricia & Chris with LOVE.‍‍‍
The Shard is definitely one of the most impressive buildings I’ve seen in London. It’s hard to miss—it’s tall, sharp, and really stands out against the skyline. I went up to the viewing platform, The View from The Shard, and the views were honestly incredible. You can see the whole city from up there—Tower Bridge, the Thames, St Paul’s, everything. If the weather’s clear, you can see for miles.nnThat said, I did find the ticket price a bit on the expensive side around £25–£30, so it’s not something I’d do regularly. But if you’re visiting London for the first time or want to treat yourself, it’s worth it for the views alone. It feels calm and spacious at the top, and they let you take your time.nnThere are also a few restaurants and bars inside the Shard. I didn’t eat there, but the setting looked lovely—great for a special occasion. Even if you don’t go up, just seeing the Shard from the outside, especially at sunset when the glass reflects the light, is quite something.nnOverall, it’s a modern landmark that gives you a real sense of how big and beautiful London is.
