Vegan review: Popped in when in the area. Lovely family run business. There wasn’t much vegan on the menu, only a soup to opt for, however the chef soon came and offered to make me a vegan cous cous which was lovely of her. I stuck with a cup of peppermint tea. Note they said they were going to introduce more vegan items to their menu in the coming months so watch this space!
Went and visited here and was great - friendly staff, a wide range of cakes, all of which were delicious. They didn't all come out at the same time when I ordered, but that's my only quibble. Perfect place after a Sunday stroll.
We have been in The Secret Garden Tea Room a few times and never been disappointed. The staff are always very attentive and friendly and the furnishings are interesting and pleasant to the eye. You can tell the food is homemade. On this occasion, my wife and I had afternoon tea. I had the Victoria sponge, which was soft and tasty, and a large Cappuccino. My wife had a Scone with cream and jam, complete with a pot of tea, which she described as “delicious”. I would certainly recommend “The Secret Garden” to anyone wishing to spend time with his or her family or friends.
We went there today with hopes of having a nice coffee and cake. My husband, mother in law and teenage daughter went ahead and got a table. They spoke with waitress who said it was fine for them to take that table. When I arrived and my husband came to help me with the pushchair for a 10 month old the waitress came and said there was no room after all as all the tables were booked. A family was leaving and offered their table to us but the waitress said there was still no table for us even though there were 3 free tables around us.
I was really looking forward to going here for a treat as we love home baked cakes. But the offering was nothing like the beautiful pictures I had seen on here. Although the service was fine, the "home baking" was a real disappointment for me. The butter cream tasted processed and the crumble cake was very stoggy and the filling certainly didn't taste home made and it wasn't cheap at £4.95. The cakes looked like they had been bought from a wholesaler. It's a shame as I'd wanted to go for a while now and was hoping it would be my go to tea room, but I won't be back. Maybe the savoury items are better.
It's the first time we'd been in here and what a lovely, warm welcome we received! We were able to sit inside with our little dog who was treated to a sausage and water. We just had hot drinks and cakes which were delicious, we'll definitely be back :
Called in today for Lunch and cake which was very tasty. Nice choice of tea's and coffee. Staff friendly and tea room was clean. Service was a bit slow and some item on menu where not available only due to it being mothers day and the tea room was full. They have a seating area upstairs and a garden area for eating, we will be calling in again . p.s. I love your home made chutney
After a lovely walk round Worsley, needed a good cup of tea so popped into The Secret Garden Tearoom. Nice pop of tea for two. Great selection of cakes. I went with a scone with cream and jam, and my wife had a cookie with hot chocolate sauce drizzled over. Would definitely visit again if in the area.
Wouldn't even give this a star but I couldn't write my review without it. Went in today for breakfast with my husband and daughter. Thought it would be nice to support smaller businesses rather than the corporate companies but what a mistake. We waited 10 minutes to order even though there was only 1 man in there. We ordered 3 full English plus beans. No staff were in the cafe some were outside drinking tea/coffee chatting. 35 mins later our breakfast appeared but no beans we were left with 3 very dry overcooked breakfasts. We had to go and look for someone to get some sauce. By the time the very watery beans appeared our breakfast was almost gone as there was so little of it. There was no follow up on our food at all or apology. I went to pay and still no "how was your food" they even had the nerve to charge for the forgotten beans. I paid in full and left never to return. Customer service is paramount for these businesses to survive and they have none of it. A complete waste of money and time. £1.50 more would have got us an unlimited full breakfast with fresh fruit, cereal, croissants etc plus unlimited tea/coffee and service with a smile. Premier Inn wins hands down over this miserable experience.
The fantastic staff are always smiling. Homemade soups were incredible aswell as the sandwiches. But best of all the huge selection of homemade cakes. Also Thursday is pie day! Worth stopping in to try.
