The Seaview Restaurant
"The Seaview Restaurant is a destination venue offering the best seafood experience. A place to enjoy Saltburn-by-the-Sea’s long stretch of golden sands, dramatic cliffs, historic Victorian pier and, of course, exceptional food and service. Following a complete refurbishment and extension, we are proud to have a venue that is certain to make you feel like you’ve been whisked away – with unrivalled views of the sea. Our new team of Michelin-trained chefs offer unique dishes created from the freshest seafood landed from the surrounding waters each day; including the famous Crab Brioche eaten by Fred Sirieix and Nadiya Hussain when we featured on BBC’s Remarkable Places To Eat. We also serve fish and chips - a seaside staple."

Very very good service. Girls are nice and friendly, received a warm welcome from door to table. Nice food. The oysters are a bit tiny and not juicy enough but don't matter. I love the salmon scotch egg. It's amazing! Cod loin is a bit too salty however the garnish and marsh potatoes are very nice to match with it. And the end, I love the view of the window I’ll try the crab with French brioche. Definitely will come back with friends!
Absolutely fantastic dining experience at Seaview. We waited around an hour to be seated great communication from the hostess so we were kept informed the whole time but it was well worth the wait! Small but fabulous menu and reasonable price. Will definitely visit here again asap!
Just been after the refurbishment, there’s an extended outside terrace, with stunning views over the beach and pier, the remaining seating area is now upstairs so the downstairs is given over to a more extensive takeaway. It’s very popular, so be prepared to queue bookings only taken for evenings. The food is first class, there’s a traditional Fish & Chip menu, but also a good choice of other seafood.
I visited Seaview Restaurant back in Feb 2022. I enjoyed the food - the scallop risotto was very delicious. Their signature crab meat brioche was good too although I would prefer less mayonnaise in the crab meat. Service was attentive. Overall a pleasant experience.
Great fish & chips, great views! You need to book if you want the restaurant; we got a takeaway and went for a walk along the coast. Good service, really tasty food proper scampi and good value.
I'm sure you've seen many fish and chip places with stickers proclaiming to be the best in town, region or country, only to be disappointed. Well... this place is hands down the best fish and chips I've tasted alongside another in Cornwall. I do try to look for good places to eat when travelling but it's pretty hard to find them when even Tesco or McD has a 4 star rating in this over-polite country. Anyway, we were a party of 4, had the cod, haddock and chips and crab brioche. I had the breaded monkfish as a starter. The in house mayo and tartare. Even the chips were tasty and not too oily. Interestingly, they served different chips to pair with the crab brioche which was of a finer cut, in between French fries and chunky chips, with a stronger char. I appreciate this rather than issuing the same sides for every main as it shows consideration of suitable pairings. Notably, only vege oil was used as well for the fries, which is another bonus point in my books... no need for unhealthy fat drippings if one knows how to cook well. There was also no over reliance on salt like most typical chippies and the dishes were tasty enough that none of our party members reached for the salt/pepper/vinegar. My only minor criticism is that, whilst the brioche served with the crab looks like it has been buttered and grilled a little for some nice crusting and char, when served, the brioche should have been reheated as the bread itself had become abit dry, losing softness, whilst the nice crust had lost some of its texture. Maybe a pair or trio of mini brioche buns with a cross slit to fill with that awesome crab topping would allow a more homogenous experience when eaten. Maybe a soft sourdough would be better as a brioche is already sweet but really nitpicking here. Decor is excellent and unique. Seatings are hip but also relaxed and formal. Location couldnt be better right next to the pier and parking although parking tends to be full. Consistency is great as i have been here thrice now a few years apart and the standards only seem to improve.
For a take away fish & chip shop this place felt rather high end, with the interior being modern, up to date digital tills and a clear easy to read concise menu. None of the soft drinks in the self serve fridge were particularly cold but there was a good range. All the standard items of food were already prepared so service was pretty much instant. The fish came in a single size making ordering easy but unfortunately there was a large ratio of batter to fish. The portion size of chips wasn’t scrimped making it reasonable value. If we was looking for the traditional dish next time I’d likely return here.
An absolutely fabulous restaurant in a super location ~ especially the al fresco dining. Awesome staff made us feel really welcome and went above & beyond to ensure our visit was perfect. The food is of the absolute highest quality ~ all three courses were sensational and the bill very reasonable. Highly, highly recommended.
What a fantastic restaurant...the food was excellent and the service delightful. Well worth the drive over from Scarborough, where we've been staying for a few days. Highly recommend...will definitely return.
Amazing view and brilliant food. The staff were attentive and looked after us brilliantly. Worth the trip for the food alone but complimented perfectly by the view!
