We spent a beautiful mini-moon at the Seaside Boarding House. What a delightful stay we had. The food is define, the rooms elegant and stylish and the hosts warm and friendly. Also, the views are spectacular and you're a stone's throw from the beach. It's a wonderful place to stay with the perfect combination of luxury, fine food and beautiful views from your bedroom window.
We had one of most magical weekends here. The location, the hospitality and the food is a five star experience. Wish I could give more. Thank you, Mary-Lou and the wonderful crew.
Nice restaurant but significantly over priced. Classic simple recipes. One of the weaker restaurants in the Michelin guide. The beach side restaurants offered better value for money and quality
This venue is impeccably rin by Mary Lou and her first class team all of which deserve praise for their kindness and attention . The experience is like being in a top liner enhanced by the adjacent sea. Parking: Breath taking
A superb restaurant with lovely sea views. Very relaxed and suitable for all visitors, no strict dress code. Very friendly and professional staff, delicious food - we couldn't fault a thing, with a menu that was understandably seafood focused. There were other options but with food of this quality I'd recommend fish. I wouldn't normally order fish but here it is well worth it. Good desserts and cocktails too.
Superb service, family friendly with amazing sea view and food. Has free parking and kids menu. We ordered oysters, Dover sole and lobster. Everything was very nice except for Dover sole - too charred for our taste.
After paying £245.00 for one night only two weeks in advance at their insistence we arrived to find that our admittedly spacious room at the very top of the building had no tea or coffee making facilities and no complementary bottles of water and glasses. We know there was room service on the ad. but as there were only two staff members around and we were up three flights of stairs it seemed unkind to ask someone to come up again. We are both over 70 and would have liked to have sat in our room and enjoyed the beautiful view after the climb to get up there and as sleeplessness is something that seems to come with age the ability to make a cuppa during the night would have been appreciated. When we went down to the main rooms and finally found someone to ask about getting a kettle for the room we are told ‘we don’t have kettles’. While the views are lovely and the food was good I think we will find a another hotel in the area next time and get all the views and in-room facilities at less money .
Absolutely superb stay at the SBH. Lovely hotel in an amazing location right on the SW coastal path with views over the sea from almost every room. Rooms are large with comfy beds and modern bathrooms. Attention to detail throughout is second to none and the library, bar and restaurant are all great spaces. The food surpassed all expectations - the menu published online looks a little limited, but the menu on the night was fantastic and everything we tried was outstanding. Breakfast was also excellent. Last but not least the staff were friendly, attentive and absolutely on the ball. A really excellent stay and we will be back for sure!
Fantastic location and the hotel is artfully furnished, creating the feel of a 1930’s luxury liner. The food is superb. Altogether a wonderfully special hotel experience.
We had such a lovely lunch here overlooking the coast. It's such a nice atmosphere and good food!
