We welcome you to our wonderful country pub, set in an acre of land, surrounded by lovely gardens and a fishing lake, we host a number of weekly fun events such as quiz night, bingo and open the box, which proves very popular with our regulars. Absolutely gorgeous food! I can highly recommend the dipping breads and olives, the chilli was exactly how you imagine a chilli should be. The falafel starter was gorgeous and something totally different to anything I've seen on a menu before. Staff are very chirpy and helpful, extremely welcoming and give great service. We Will be going again as I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
Booked a table here for 6 of us. Staff polite, friendly and attentive. Spacious area with lots of inside and outside seating. We all ordered something different from the menu, and we all enjoyed. Would definitely eat/drink here again
best to book, meat's 3 are cooked to perfection, good choice of veg, the only thing they could improve on is the vegetarian dish all they had was vegetable pie not very imaginative add some quorn it's not difficult, we are going again sunday, booking tomorrow sat &i will be asking if they could do this!!, let you know later, the reason it's 4 *'s is nothing is perfect but it was delicious just let down by the vegetarian dish
Always had a good meal here. Been on two separate occasions. Their pizza is beautiful and their burgers are more than enough to feed a starving hippo. Plenty of choice for drinks too. They have special offers on at different days of the week. Also dog friendly.
Had a Sunday carvery for first time today. Chose medium carvery £9.95, good value for money. They also do a small for £8.95 & large for £11.95. I had just beef, plenty, cooked well, then help yourself to veg etc. I couldn't get any more on my plate, plenty of gravy & sauces. Great food, I will visit again. Only downside is you do have to queue, at least 15mins .
Update 30/06/22 - revisit - pizzas x 2 "anitpasta" & "carne de montagne". Just tasteless - very bland . No seasoning, far too much cheese, swimming in bland tomato sauce, very little topping . Not worth the money even at £12 for 2. Hanging chicken kebab good portion - alas chicken smelt of ashtrays and was inedible . Not recommended. Steak Wednesday ... Food terrific. Good quality. More than enough for the healthiest of apptites. Staff,friendly professional. Nothing too much trouble. Clean inside ,& out. & Immaculate Toilet area.
Lovely beer garden - shame the view of the water is covered a bit by advertising - a nice open view of the lake would be nice ! However nice place - huge portions of food / the fish and chips could have fed two of us - very good - and the burger piggy in the middle was great - no wonder we had to walk 3 miles as nostell priory afterwards
Very friendly staff and dog friendly but too much noise what with the giant TVs and music on at the same time. Food was OK but the highlight was the fresh fruit cocktail, Raspberry Mojito with fresh lime, raspberries and mint. Also, great bar staff, cheerful and attentive.
Fantastic evening very well organised happy chilled out vibe. Staff friendly and approachable. We didn't have food but really enjoyed the amazing fireworks and pink tribute. A little gem of a place. First bonfire night here and it won't be our last.
We ordered takeout from here last night and it was great. The portion sizes were fantastic and the food was high quality. It was as close to eating out as we could have asked for without actually being able to eat out and made a lovely change from the normal, greasy takeout food that is available from most other places. If you want some good, proper food I'd recommend ordering from here. It's a little bit pricier than most takeouts but that's to be expected given the difference in food quality and the fact that you're paying for proper pub food so, for us, worth paying a bit extra. I'm looking forward to eating my leftovers for lunch today and we will definitely be ordering from here again. Thank you so much
