The Royal Oak

About

We are a family run pub just off the high street in Burford.

Story

John, Jeanette and Harry would like to welcome you to The Royal Oak in the beautiful and historic town of Burford.

This charming grade II listed public house is ideally situated for the vast amount of traditional English villages and, of course, the world renowned city of Oxford.

The area also features many walking routes, and there is no better place to stop and rest those aching limbs and feet than our fine establishment.

Our relaxing Bar and Restaurant areas feature oak beams and a log fire.

We offer an excellent range of conditioned Ales, Lagers, Ciders and Fine Wines.

The food offering features classic Gastro Pub fare or, for lunch, you can try one of our full to the brim baguettes or ciabattas.

For the summer months we also boast a sun trapped beer garden where you can kick back and relax over a cool beer or a glass of Pimms.

A warm and friendly welcome awaits from this family run business and we will be only too happy to assist in any of your needs.

We had our Easter lunch at The Royal Oak. Even if we went without a reservation, they were more than happy to find us a table. I had my first Sunday roast of my life, and it was excellent!!! :)

Steak and ale pie was delicious. The burger was amazing for its meat and the banoffee delicious! We had a delightful experience!

A great, low-key pub with good food (including excellent chips), and is dog-friendly. Getting a bit more expensive (as many things are these days), but not bad for Burford.

Good food and good service but a bit pricey for pub grub.
