Food was very good, both evening meal and breakfast. Young lad who made breakfast for us did a fine job. Rooms are a bit 'worn'...but for us three bikers, it was just right after a soaking ride over the Pennines!nWe would stsy again.
The proprietor seems to be totally disorganised; we booked and paid for a small family room over the phone. When we arrived a few days later, we were told that someone else now had the room and we were offered a double which we grudgingly accepted. The room was filled with a mishmash of furniture including a super king bed far too soft , a 65” tele and an assortment of shelves and tables. The whole room was so badly laid out that there was only around 8 inches either side of the bed to squeeze by. To my mind, he had purchased a random selection of furniture from a house clearance sale.nThere was only half a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom so we had to pinch a roll from the gents loo in the pub.nAnd… to top it all, there was only one sachet of coffee between us for the morning.nAll of the entrance doors were controlled by electronic locks which I think was very gimmicky; too much emphasis on tech, not enough on the basics i.e. comfort and practicality.nOn a positive note, it’s in a good location.
Qadir is the owner.nHe's not exactly got a great reputation locally.nHe made us feel very unwelcome by overreacting to a very easily solved situation, and making it far worse through a lack of respect, tact, and any type of management ability.nI suppose there's a reason it has a low feedback score.nWe would never entertain the idea of going there again. Such a shame, as it's a lovely village with a very friendly welcoming population.nLucky that there are other great establishments to choose from.
Good points - good check in; helpful friendly staff, great evening meal with good service and good prices.nBad points - no hot water from shower, no hot water from basin taps, very low water pressure frpn taps on basin. Toilet continued with water pouring into the toilet after flushing, extractor fan stayed on for a long timr, light over shower did not work. Bed was tilted down towards head as floor uneven.
Friendly staff, and delicious food at good prices.nThe food was all fresh, excellent quality and tasty.nIt was so good, it was REAL food. Other places serve frozen, processed food, but I can't explain how good it was here!nBig portion sizes, and cooked to perfection.nnMany thanks!nWe'll certainly visit again!
