Despite a 24hr reception being advertised online, we were unable to drop our bags off anywhere before checkin - which is pretty standard for hotels nowadays - meaning we had to carry them around for most of our weekend away. The phone number had an out of hours message that referenced being open again 'from 7am' so maybe this is a recent change? We met another pair of travellers at around midday with the same problem. The room itself was nice, bed was comfy, but key things were missing and had to be asked for at reception. Spent almost £200 for less than travelodge service.
Lovely location and friendly staff. They were so helpful to me when I was trying to plan activities. Really cosy rooms - and I liked the seaside theme. However the shower in my room didn’t work, and it is quite noisy on the seafront on the weekend. Would stay again but think some of the appliances need updating.
Lovely hotel, in a great seaward location. The interior is decorated attractively with interesting paintings and art work. The reception staff were very helpful and accommodating. Whilst the rooms are quite compact, the beds are very comfortable, they have a homely feel and the sea views are wonderful. The hotel has several large lounges to relax in.
The best place I have stayed in Ramsgate. It’s very warm and cozy. I love all the bookshelves everywhere and the records playing downstairs by the fireplace. The rooms are unique. I love having the harbour view but the other rooms are lovely too I’ve stayed here several times. I would love to come back and stay at The Royal Harbour Hotel.
Came on a quiet night and got upgraded to a beautiful suite - absolutely gorgeous room with a 4 poster bed! Great location with lovely views over the harbour and very friendly service. Would highly recommend.
We absolutely love how the hotel looks like, the cleaning standards are high and the view is great, highly recommended. The staff is so friendly.. Jennifer, the lady from the reception is amazing, I've already told her that she's gonna be mentioned in my review to thank her again for the kindness and support we had from her after our car breakdown and we had to wait for more than 4 hours with a 2 years old baby for a taxi to be allocated from the insurance company to drop us back home. She told us since we've done the check-in that after check out we can come back to enjoy a cup of tea in the garden or inside the hotel anytime so we just went back to the hotel and she was more than happy to let us stay there, giving us water and something to eat for the little one, so once again, Jennifer, thank you very much!!! Looking forward to come back any time soon.
Lovely position overlooking the harbour, beautifully furnished reception rooms, excellent continental breakfast, restaurant not running at present. Welcoming staff. Steps up to the door, quite narrow corridors and our twin ground floor room with wet room was pleasant, fine for my husband's folding walker, but not really suitable for a wheelchair. Didn't see other bedrooms upstairs. No lift. This is an old Georgian building.
As a birthday present my daughter bought me a night's stay at your hotel. As you charged such a high price for room only no breakfast included I thought your hotel must be special after reading all the amenities you display. This was so far from the truth. My room at the top of the house was a tiny box room and although description promises 'Wardrobe or closet' there wasn't either and not enough room to open a case flat. 'TV+Flat-screen-TV+Cable channels' you boast of didn't work. I planned to return to my room Saturday evening and relax and watch TV for the rest of the evening. When I got up into my room, TV didn't work and over the next few hours I was up and down 49 stairs 5 times to try to get woman on reception to fix it, but she couldnt. She said if I needed anything, I should just call her from upstairs but how could I? There's no phone in the room so she said just yell down to me. I wasn't going to do that and she wouldn't have heard anyway from that height through all those doors and stairs. By this time I was absolutely shattered so was going to go to bed but when I went to use the toilet for the first time, I lifted the lid and it was disgusting, there was urine at the bottom and brown stains in the bowl so for the 6th time I had to go down those winding stairs yet again. She then came up with cleaning products to clean it. This is disgusting for a hotel to have such low standards. I have stayed in many hotels and in comparison you certainly have nothing to be proud of. I couldn't wait to check out the next morning as what should have been an enjoyable stay was so unpleasant and I was very disappointed to have to tell my daughter of what should have been an enjoyable gift but instead was a frustrating and exhausting experience.
I have never stayed at this hotel, but i have just found out that they have not bowed to government pressure or accepted the governments monetary bribe, and have rejected to house the fighting age male boat people invading our country. That deserves 5 stars in my opinion. Well done.Location: 1/5
Warm welcome but rooms dated. Booked a suite which is fine but no fridge. In annex away from rest of family. Lack of bar and restaurant specified before we booked, but would bring this hotel back to life.Rooms: 4/5
