Set in Barnstaple Town centre so really no room had decent views so don't pay extra for one. Really nice old building with clean spacious bedrooms and bathroom and a comfy bed. Nice friendly staff. Bit expensive, charged us £5 for two small bottles of water, something we get for free in a Wetherspoons hotel
A little gem in Barnstaple. Great service from staff and clean throughout. Recommend booking direct for some great offers and maybe a room upgrade if you're lucky. Would be tempted to try other hotels in the group.
Lovely place and staff are so friendly. Parking can be hard sometimes as its a weird shape carpark if you have a large vehicle or van. They do have an overflow car park just down the lane. The place is perfect and spotless. Location is ideal the pub down the road the horse and groom is definitely worth a visit sports and very reasonable priced drinks
Whoever is plating the Jacket potatoes should be more attentive. It comes with probably a spoonful of filling and no butter maybe increase price a bit so we can actually eat the whole potato with filling. We don’t like sending food back and were hungry so ended up eating half of it “ dry”, putting the salad and chutney on top… I should’ve taken a picture so it doesn’t look like I’m exaggerating on how little filling it was served with but didn’t think about it then. I had sandwiches in the past and Sunday roast, all of them have been great. Good atmosphere; coffee and service were lovely.
Not usually one to leave reviews on local businesses but unfortunately the service we received a few Sundays ago was really poor the only positive hospitality we had was from the chef on the carvery who was doing an excellent job. Working in hospitality I haven’t seen such poor hospitality from a front of house team, personally found them rude and not one person even check back on us to see if we wanted any more drinks or even to see if our food was ok and it wasn’t even busy. And when we asked for the bill was told to go the bar no please, thank you or even offer to show where the bar was. Spent almost £100 on 4 carvery’s with just a soft drink and unfortunately wasn’t an enjoyable meal.
