Never been to the doctors in over 20 years, went for the first time. I was told there was no treatment for my condition. I have done my resesrch and there was treatment that could of been given to me. I am unregistering from them very soon.. I will never set foot in that place again! What happened to the good old doctors? Update. Boots consultation offered me treatment within five minutes. So for the doctor to say "we don't have any treatment" as i already knew was utter none sense. Thank goodness i didn't go there for something life threatening!
Last week, I had a really bad shoulder and decided to book an appointment with them. To my surprise, I received a reply from them in less than 24 hours. They quickly directed my query to a Physio named Christopher Barlow, who is a first contact practitioner Physio there. I was able to get an appointment with him in less than 24 hours. Christopher diagnosed my condition and even sent me an exercise routine that I can easily practice at home through videos. The whole process was incredibly smooth and I'm really grateful for the whole team.
It is very hard as a transgender person to get the treatment needed in the first place, nethermind when your practice makes you jump through loops constantly to try and simply order the medication you've been on for a long time. You want a blood test? Try and book one because you need one every 3 months and they won't book you in, you need a routine appointment with a doctor before you can even book the bloods in, to get the bloods back a week later to then order in your medication and hope it arrives before the date your due your treatment, you are made to feel stupid on the phone for trying to sort these things out. I have had issues with this practice constantly when trying to discuss or receive my medication and it really shouldn't be this emotionally draining, I am fed up.
Avoid this GP at all costs. They guarantee you appointments then just never call with no communication. They mess up prescriptions. Forget to put them through. I once missed a call from them because I was in A&E due to their negligence, and then they refused me another appointment because I was in A&E! I’ve been told it’s a 10 minute wait in reception before only to be left sat for an hour and they’d forgotten I was even there. Do not sign up for this GP.
If there is 0 star to give I would to. They are so bad. They forget to send prescriptions to pharmacy and I call them they say sorry we will do now 30 minutes and u can collect from the pharmacy, well they haven’t and I had to wait the weekend to pass to call them guess what they say the doctor is not available and u have to wait, . And there is one time where I checked in and sit on chair in front of the receptionist and she smiling to me waiting for my appointment 1 and half hour ever delayed appointment. I ask the receptionist and she said you are late and the appointment been cancelled. Luckily there is a nice doctor who already have appointment with her to my daughter knew I have been waiting. And when she forced the to say the truth it’s turned out the forget to mark me in.
Horrible GP, constantly messes up my prescription, once the receptionist’s misplaced it meaning I had to call 111 to get an emergency one and faff around going to different pharmacy. At my 8 week maternity check up the gp said “ do you actually need a check up?” So she didn’t bother , wouldn’t recommend , leave as soon as you can!
I am having a horrible experience with this surgery for some time now. In order to get a simple blood test done, I had two appointments cancelled by the surgery with a text message sent a couple of hours before the appointments citing staff absences/shortages. Finally, the test went ahead on the third occasion. On another occasion my 7 year old son was given appointment almost a month after I rang them to get a simple blood test. Finally, on the day of his appointment we were just 2 min late and the receptionists turned us away saying you are late and the nurse is very busy today. I asked her to speak to the nurse and she refused to do so saying "I know her answer already she wont see you". I am registered with this surgery for more than 10 years and never in my experience I was seen on time. The surgery is always running between 10 to 30 mins late into each appointment and the patients are supposed to wait until finally seen by someone. This is not fair on patients as the surgery expects them to wait for the doctor or the nurse when they are running late whereas if the patient is one minute late they don't bother to see us even if we are willing to wait. I don't see the logic in it. If I am two minutes late with a child that means someone else must be seen during my time slot then why can't I wait and be seen in the slot of the patient who is seen before his/her appointment. Technically speaking, from the 10 mins slot allocated to me I still had 8 minutes remaining and I know the blood tests only take 5 mins.
The practitioners are good and attentive, however the receptionists were raised by animals, they mistreat people and won't answer calls or questions in person. Very rude and unhelpful. This practice used to be good when it was part of UoM and the portal was better. Now there is no way of getting a proper appointment. Do not recommend.
I have been trying to call this dang nabbit surgery for 30 blasted minutes. I've been caller number 1 for 28 minutes of the call. This is beyond a joke and the receptionists shouldn't even be working in a place such as a doctors surgery. I will be contacting GMC and the health service ombudsman. The staff are the least empathetic towards the elderly their primary patients and the very young. There are certain members of staff who are very rude and shouldn't be in a healthcare environment in the slightest.
I have used Robert Darbishire Practice for a number of years. In recent years their triage arrangements have become very efficient, prompt and reassuring in the light of what I learn in the press about other practices. My online enquiries are dealt with on the same day by pre-arranged phone appointment notified by email or text from a relevant health practitioner - usually a GP - and advice provided by phone or by surgery visit. Their monitoring of my health conditions annual health checks have always been prompt. Data emerging from, for example, blood tests, are provided within one week and, where issues emerge either from me or the GP are dealt with by further telephone appointment. I feel fortunate to be a registered patient at this practice.
