We came here for a family meal for New Years Day and it did not disappoint, best Sunday roast we had all had for a while! The team were really friendly and the manager gave our dog cuddles and treats. We also had the pleasure of meeting Mikey the cat! Would HIGHLY recommend for sure
Absolutely the best Sunday roast we have all had in a long time! The owner informed us that the the lamb was “to die for” and she was not wrong, it was so tender and delicious as were all of our meals! Desserts were also amazing but the best thing about this pub was the staff who were extremely friendly and looked after us and our two dogs during our visit, the chef even sent out a bowl of chopped meat for our dogs to enjoy. The friendly atmosphere of this pub was far beyond any place that we have visited and we will have no hesitation to go back for the food and the warm welcome ! Highly recommend!
We were staying nearby so we booked Sunday lunch for 4 people and 2 dogs. Friendliest pub I have ever been to. We had a lovely lunch and the beer was great too. We will be coming back and will stay next time.Service: 5/5
Enjoyed Sunday lunch - local roast lamb, beautifully cooked and great service despite us being a group of 14 people.Service: 5/5
Great welcome from all staff. Very friendly place. Good place for traditional Sunday Roast. Will certainly visit them again.
We popped in for food, we loved the value and menu, we returned the following day.
Stunning pub high in the Welsh hills. Couldn't fault the service by the friendly woman greeting us. Being on her own in a busy bar and restaurant did not stop our food arriving quickly and it was delicious. Would highly recommend a visit.Service: 5/5
We were staying close by so checked if they could serve us a breakfast one morning. Service was ace. Great pet friendly pub. Food spot on. Attentive service and really reasonable. If you're in the area, would suggest giving it a go.Service: 5/5
A lovely, local place to eat with delicious food and very friendly, accommodating staff. only downside is the small carpark. We had issues parking as there were lots of horses in the carparking spaces but found somewhere eventually. Obviously this is no fault of the Roast Ox. we will definitely be back again as the roast was lovely and childrens portions are very generous.
The food here is outstanding. From the outside on first glance, this is marketed as a pub, however the hospitality is exceptional and quality of food is unrivaled. I had a Sunday Roast, Lamb twice because it was that good and the Cod and Chips. Not a single fault with any of them, the quality of food is that of a a Michelin starred restaurant, with the portion sizes for a proper person. We live 4 hours away but we will certainly be returning.
