Superb garden. A yellow book star.

Having visited this garden toward the end of last summer, I was keen to return to see it this spring. A beautiful rambling garden with all sorts of hidden delights to discover. Part is in an old walled kitchen garden/orchard area which has been filled with beautiful herbaceous borders with a wide variety of plants, including some more interesting and unusual varieties, along with a miniature stream and wildlife pond. This area opens out into a large formal lawn, with a glasshouse to one side and central 'mock pond'. Reasonably priced refreshments including teas, coffees and homemade cakes are also available. For those who enjoy wildlife, a bluebell wood runs alongside the garden and there is plenty of bird life to be seen and heard if you keep your eyes and ears open. A wonderful peaceful place to spend a relaxing afternoon and one to return to so as to experience the changing seasons.

We visited the garden on bank holiday Monday (May). What a stunning garden and a must visit for cottage garden lovers. We stayed for nearly three hours and walked around the garden twice (even though it was raining) as there was just to much to take in on the first round. Drinks and cakes available in the garden as well which just made the experience even better. The owners are also a delightful couple and happy to give gardening advice. We left with a list of new ideas for our garden and we are now looking forward to revisiting in summer. Highly recommended!!

This garden is beautiful. It has so many different attractive aspects that around each corner there is a lovely surprise which awaits you. If you see one garden this year, it should be Barbara Barlow's Cottage Gardens. I spent the day soaking in the scenery and relaxed with a scone and coffee. Thanks.

Welcoming hosts, expansive grounds. Personality I would have enjoyed more formal boarders in the garden.
