The Regent Shopping Centre

Story

The Regent Shopping Centre is an indoor shopping mall located in the centre of Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The centre is distinct from The Regent Centre, a shopping centre in Kirkintilloch.HistoryThe shopping centre was built in 1965. In 1998/99, a £9 million redevelopment converted the mall into an indoor shopping facility. This was to ensure it would still be a popular choice for shoppers for years to come.Hamilton itself is a principal shopping destination, located to the south-east of Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland. The town has a population of around 50,000, with a population of around 350,000 living within 10km.AccessibilityThe centre lies 150 metres away from Hamilton bus station and also has a bus stop on Duke Street at the Duke St door into the centre, so can be easily accessible by bus. Also, Hamilton Central train station is also the same distance away from the shopping mall, offering services to and from Glasgow Central. Also, next to the centre, is the smaller New Cross Shopping Centre.StoresStores include: BHS, Boots, Card Factory, Clarks, Early Learning Centre, Marks and Spencer, New Look, Poundworld, Superdrug, WHSmith, Wilko

Guys this is what I'd call the last chance for this monument place. Business is struggling to stay on the high Street. Every employee who works here depends on you guys and myself to go in and proper shop. See what's on offer ask the staff and keep people employed who puts food on the family table and a roof above there family's head. Please don't do online . We are loosing faith. People depend on there jobs.
I was a stall holder at the festive market. It had been moved indoors at short notice because of the weather. I really enjoyed the indoor market and hope they agree to host more.
Clean and a nice atmosphere but not many shops to visit and had to pay to park won't be rushing back.
What a sad place I don't know what's happening in Regent Shopping Centre or who owns it just now but it's an absolutely. disgrace. I actually feel depressed when I have to go there and keep saying I won't go back .
Clean shopping center,not to busy
This place has lost its appeal. Lacking now with choices of shops. Will go miles away to get choice and atmosphere. Paying for parking to shop nowadays is disappointing, no wonder people go out of town if they have a option.
Not what it used to be pre covid, m9re shops closes than open
Shopping in the centre was a welcome respite from the dreary rain outside, the place was clean and comfortably warm and light inside and has EE, O2 and Vodaphone shops I was shopping for a mobile. Aside from that there is a Costa to grab a hot drink and consider my Christmas present options, a Wilko to grab bits and bobs toys for nephews and nieces, W H Smiths to buy other presents books, Boots to buy perfumes and medicine and a Superdrug for other perfume and aftershave. Plus Officers Club to get new clothes for my work night out and Hays Travel to dream about not having to go back out into the rain and the cold.
Hamilton Christmas Market was on. Was good. tho the lights were not on..due to high winds. It was nice to visit. While passing through. The Villa Hotel. Restaurant. You will find a lot of Scottish town shops. are similar. Have. empty. Or charity. . Its due to people shopping online and. Places like Braehead. . If more peopleshopped local. The towns would get. chance to. recover maybe .... Dumfries. has. start community. buying s. unused. Building. for local. Makers Crafters. Very good
The work and effort put in for the Christmas lights switch on was great just what Hamilton businesses needed to bring people to the town
