Staff greeted us upon arrival on a Saturday lunch time we didn't have a booking. Food came in decent time and was absolutely delicious! I had a jacket potato with coleslaw coleslaw was not on the menu but we asked and they enthusiastically provided, my mother had the scampi and said the batter was so light and beautifully cooked. We were pleasantly surprised at the total cost of our meals and staff were absolutely lovely. Will definitely be returning when next in the area.

Have to say I was a little disappointed. Food was tough and dry. Had no checkback through the meal. Place is also very cramped.

First time at Red Lion since Maggie left. Service and food as good as usual with few changes to the menu. I had the steak and ale pie with sliced fried new pots and veg from the specials board which was delicious

I used to drink with colleagues from work occasionally....late 90s..I was walking past and popped in on impulse....I  have just returned after a few years walkabout in Africa. I felt like Rip Van Winkel. It was a proper boozer then. They are serving very well presented food and all the patrons seemed happy.  Still a wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff.

Came here for a roast dinner today, the food was lovely. Staff were really nice and accommodating to my 1 year old. Would definitely come back here

Really good service, sadly their curry, although well presented tasted nothing like a curry . Maybe I made a bad choice as they have a really good menu

Quite pub staff brilliant food is home cooked and proper man size portions would definitely recommend

Two of us thoroughly enjoyed midweek lunch at the Red Lion. Food cooked beautifully and very tasty. All the staff were attentive. Well done and thank you. See you again soon.

My favourite place in the UK. Excellent food quality, big portions, relaxed atmosphere.
