Maybe the most delicious Chinese food in Bath as the taste of Chinese. It is real Chinese tasty. Better than hkb, hongfushion absolutely. Don't eat it's buffet, it's bullshit. Ask for the menu. I am not sure is there English on the menu? Do not worry I will recommend some of them It is Sichuan style food in China so maybe very spicy. Because it's main customers are the students of Bath U, it might have not so good service. But it has very delicious food. It will be better if you have Chinese friends with you. And not too expensive if you know how to order the food. 10 pounds is definitely enough. If you do not know which one is good, I recommend the 'spicy boiled fish'or 'spicy diced chicken with peanuts' . Dishes and rice, this is real Chinese life.
Sooo peed off. My husband, son 8 and daughter 7 went there in February on a Friday night for our daughters 7th birthday. We have been many times before, the food is ok and there's no waiting so that's great when you have hungry kids with you. As we walked in the older female owner?? approached us and we asked for a table for four please, she didn't lead us to the tables but instead lead our 8 year old son to the column to the right of the bar. The column had a yellow post-it on it with 1.4m written on it, our son was then measured against this post-it. Granted our son is quite tall and he was about 4 inches higher than the mark and the lady said we had to pay adults price for him. We were gobsmacked!! I told her we've been here loads of times and they had never measured him, but no the woman was really rude and insisted we pay adult price for him. Needless to say we told her we wouldn't be staying and went to Jimmy Spice instead, which we all enjoyed and they didn't have a problem with our sons height! We haven't been back since nor do we intend to. What would they charge for a small adult under 1.4 meters?? Is this even legal?? Anyway don't go there if you have tall children!
I've been visiting The Real China for years and will surely keep doing so! Very cosy and pleasant place, authentic Chinese cuisine, good prices. You could not find a super-wide variety of meals, but the restaurant definitely worth visiting!
The food was OK, can easily find better restaurant in the location.
