We had an odd experience here and left with the impression that the service doesn’t match the quality of the food. Upon arrival we were left standing at the “Wait to be seated” sign while we watched several staff behind the bar chatting with each other, casually moving glassware and seeming to be uninterested in new guests. We must have waited for at least four minutes while we watched several staff ignore us. Our ordering process was fine. I ordered a three course meal. The starter, bruschetta, was delicious. I’d order that again without question. The main course was lovely, a slow cooked beef with appropriate vegetables accompanying. When we finished our main, we waited 15 min for dessert to come. Then I got the attention of a wait staff, but not our server. I told her we were waiting on a dessert. She stopped for a moment and then said that the dessert I had ordered wasn’t available anymore. She apologized rather nonchalantly like it didn’t really matter. Then she wanted to know if we just wanted the bill. I chose another dessert and we had to wait again for service to resume. The food was good. The portions were generous. I wonder if the poor service is just because it was a Sunday night. If the service matched the quality of the food, this would be a terrific spot.
We had early dinner 2 nights in a row 20th and 21st Dec 21 in the Quays. Nice place, clean, great gastro pub food. Around £85 for 3 main courses, 2 deserts see pictures, sorry for the "deconsteucted" deserts which we shared , 2 glasses of red wine and a beer. Very friendly service too.

Very tasty food, great atmosphere and excellent service both at the bar and the restaurant. The restaurant waiting staff are some of the best in town, I think. The Quays have a new menu running at the moment and are advertising Christmas Dinner as well. The new menu choices are great, but don't worry - they still have a lot of the old favourites like the Quays fried chicken. A great range of beers - no locally brewed Lacada however - and a good house rose wine. Stop pondering and just call in.
Good food and lovely staff. Can't speak highly enough of Adrian, more than helpful, saved the day for myself and my friend Donna. Have been many times and will definitely be back.Food: 4/5
Booked for a casual lunch for my husbands early 60th birthday. Food was delicious, service from Lee, Adele and Lindsay was fab as always. Hard to go past this spot for great food, exceptional customer service and great value for money. Well done guys!
