Don't order spirits. I asked for brandy, waited 5 minutes then was served a shot of half brandy half water. The bartender swore at me when I asked if it was watered down, I asked to see the manager and she claimed to be the manager, eventually I got hold of the real manager. After a good 10 minutes speaking to the manager I got my money back. Apart from that the music and rest of the staff were great.
Went to 'Creeps' at Medicine Bar last night and upon entry, my friend who has a mental disability was refused entry due to being 'too drunk' - despite him having nothing to drink at all. I am absolutely appalled at this sort of behavior from the security. Very insensitive and ignorant conduct - I will most certainly not be visiting again. The glasses in which drinks are served are also very grimy and unclean, definitely do not match any sort of hygiene standards.
The dirtiest glasses plastic beakers I've ever seen passed across a bar. Unfortunately, when I'm already off my face on desperado and kraken I've never really cared enough not to drink what I've been given in one of those manky glasses, but I can tell you that I've never woken up with as many sore throats as the mornings after a night out at Medicine Bar.
Went outside for a cigarette, returned to the entrance and the bouncer wouldn't let me back in because I'd been "sniffing drugs" - even though I hadn't and ripped my band off me. Had to get a taxi home by myself. Absolutely belligerent behaviour if you ask me, I am appalled.
The layout is nice however most of the crowd consists of high school students by the looks of it!
If the theme night is something you're interested in then definitely worth it.
Attended a 90s rave night. Great venue, and the drinks were cheap!
Clammy, sticky, cramped... The usual nightclub scene... An adequate beverage.
Great place to party, busy on Thursdays with Students.
