This restaurant used to be a court house 400 years ago and still house the wig used by one of the judges back then. Aside from the interesting fact, they have been own by a string of famous people including Hollywood star Madonna and Guy Guy Ritchie. Of course the food and service were excellent.Food: 5/5
Great dinner spot in Mayfair! Annabelle and Will looked after us so well. We went for starters, main, side, dessert and drinks - everything was impeccable! Every dish was amazing, cooked beautifully and also presented beautifully too. The decor is also so cute. Kept the old building style of the pub but made so cosy. Ground floor is a pub, middle floor restaurant and top floor an event space. Situated on a quiet street it's definitely a hidden gem. As there are so many options in Mayfair, this is one definitely not to miss. Great value for money for the high quality of food that's for sure! We will be back! : thank you for having us.
Classic British, amazing food and stunning service. My parents were visiting from Australia and this was the perfect place to take them. Such delicious food and drink, our servers Antony and Sonya were fantastic, they left no crumbs.Food: 5/5
One of the best experiences we had. It was the first meal in our trip to London and we loved it so much we had our LAST meal of the trip there as well. The best part was our wonderful server Alice who was a complete and total joy!Food: 5/5
On vacation, and this place made my stay in England unforgettable. From the moment you walk through the door, you’re genuinely welcomed and taken care of. The staff is incredibly friendly and funny, always up for a chat or a joke. The bar and restaurant setting is absolutely charming, with a wonderful atmosphere and aesthetic. The drinks are great, but the real star here is the food—simply astonishing. It’s so good that I went online to leave a review, which says a lot about how exceptional it was. I had the devilled kidney and ox and bone marrow pie with some sides, and now I’m lying in bed reminiscing and wishing I had more
We booked a table for lunch after the refurbishment to take a look as we have booked our wedding reception at The Punchbowl. As soon as we arrived we were attended to immediately and Marisa the assistant manager couldn’t have been more attentive. We tasted a few wines before ordering food which were all very palatable. The menu was short but the food amazing. To start I had 3 Ousters which tasted very fresh. My partner had the vegan burratta. A big portion but he devoured it . For main course I had the vegan curry which was delicious and came as a Thali style - my favourite way of eating and so tasty. My partner had the roast beef which he said was cooked to perfection as were the accompanying vegetables. We finished with Afrogatto- again a favourite and so good to see it on the menu. All in all a great experience and can’t wait for the wedding
Fantastic! Recently visited for lunch during their soft reopening and we were very impressed. Firstly, the refurbishment has been done in a very tasteful way. It retains a homely, yet high-end local pub feel. It makes for a very relaxed and comfortable experience. The dining room is beautifully arranged, and has all-important comfortable seating and plenty of space for all diners. The staff are all incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, welcoming, and smiley, and they all wear a very smart uniform which adds an air of class without being stuffy or silly. One immediately feels at ease and at home. The menu is well thought out. There is a nice mix of pub favourites pies, fish & chips, curry but with the addition of other dishes normally found in a restaurant chateaubriand, lamb, halibut, plus there is an extensive specials board. Consider the menu as an elevated pub food gourmet experience. The food was delicious. The scallops were a highlight. Cooked beautifully and presented in an eye-catching way that will make heads turn, my only recommendation is go large and order six as three will not be enough for this mouth-watering experience, especially if you have a guest and like to share! I would also recommend you save some bread for the warm garlic sauce from the shells. The prawn and crab cocktail was plentiful and fresh. I would suggest slightly less lettuce to make it perfect. The halibut on the bone was meaty and flavoursome and there are enough vegetables that mean you really do not require additional sides. Savour each bite as it is delicate and delicious. The pub curry comes as thali style and is very filling. The onion bhaji is moreish and the sauces allow for a meal that is a medley of fresh flavours. We were feeling quite full and satisfied but decided to give the After Eight ice cream a try......we were not disappointed. If you enjoy mint chocolate ice cream then give this a try. It tastes exactly like After Eight and is a great finisher to cleanse the palate it is also vegan PS - the bill is presented in a fun way I want to take the opportunity to commend the service we received from Jai. He was great. Attentive, friendly, always smiling and gave great suggestions. A credit to the team. Overall you need to visit this place, and booking for food will be a must. A local pub that is well decorated, comfortable, with a welcoming team, and has great gourmet food.....what more is there to ask for?
Brilliant place for a casual pint of proper ale. Or even better for elevated pub grub, with a great wine list. We were brilliantly looked after by Annabelle when we were there. The pie is a must try! Best I’ve had in London!Food: 5/5
Awesome food. Friendly staff. Fast & free Wi-Fi. The building itself is like a museum. I this place.
Great pub and atmosphere. I love that they have live music there on a Thursday. Best Espresso Martinis in town. The staff are amazing and super friendly. It was also great to meet the General Manager, Kyra. I definitely recommend this pub and cannot wait to go back after their renovations.Food: 5/5
