i was admitted to garden court in 2017. DR George was the phyciatrist for that ward.DR george has no idea what she is doing and she never listens. i 100% do not reccomend garden court. They physically restrained me more than they are actually allowed to do. ive got a life threatening medical condition which means they have to be careful. they were far from careful. i ended up with massive bruises. they would drag you down the corridor to the padded room and then hold you down. iwas never aloud outside which meant i lacked sunshine so i had to be put on vitamin tablets just like all the other young people there. having leave was a big no. not aloud to see family or friends or even some phone calls.. i was overdosed on medication. had more than i should and got given medication that i didnt even need.i was on so so much medication that it messed me up. after a few months they decided to move me to a different hospital after being on 1-1 with 6 people....(yep 6 people arms length, pathetic). when i moved to the next hospital, i was practically asleep for 2 weeks. i was very very mentally ill because ticehurst and messed my head up so so bad. they had made me so much worse than before i even went in. but with the help of the new hospital i got better and got discharge. i could write a massive list as to why this unit should be closed down but one thing that worrys me is autistic people or people with learning difficulties. they have no idea how to support and help people on the spectrum. its shocking. please dont let your children go there and if they do then try and get them transferred to a different hospital.

I was a impatient at this priory for 7 months..... They r a very good priory but at the same time not They r good because: .they try to support u as much as they can .some staff on garden court are the best people I have ever met e.g:Karleigh Stacey Sarah Kelly andria Elvie and Natalie etc .i loved all hdu staff they were all lovely .xmas and celebration days were really fun .i have had really good days there They r not good because: .they loose ur properties .some staff can be rude .there restraints bruise u .they just put everyone on medication all the time If any staff read this thank you so much for everything u have done for me.......if I did not go to tht priory I would never have got to where I am right now soon to go back to my mum to live wiv her and I am working as a hairdresser These guys at the priory r like the best people I have ever met if anyone ends up going there just play the game u really do not want to get sectioned if u get out on meds just take them also talk to them but just play the game and u should be out of there sooner or later!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!

Priory is an amazing place. As a patient still in Garden Court for over three months, I can seriously say that you cannot judge a book by it's cover. I was transferred from an NHS hospital in London, and wow can I say that here is so much nicer. The staff are amazing, we still go outside on a regular basis, there are tons of staff here willing to help, tons of things to keep us occupied, even a room and toys to help calm stress, anxiety, anger, etc. Everything and anything that happens is always your choice. It is absolutely amazing, the food is great, the patients and staff are kind, and it's really hard to not make friends here! When I first came, I thought to myself "this place looks disgusting, no way I'm going to like it." And I was right, I don't like it, I love it!! If you're thinking about going inpatient, then I'd most definitely recommend Ticehurst Priory.

This hospital is such a good help. The staff are friendly and help you with your recovery.i spent some time here and now I'm loving life. I Apriciate the time and effort that was put in. It's not the best place to be and no one wants to be there but the staff are willing to help as long as you help your self. Thank you so much and hope people have a similar experience to what I did. A huge inspiration.
