The Powder Monkey hosted the wake following my Aunts funeral from the very first interaction with Ellie to book in the wake the whole experience has been fantastic.nThe venue was great, Ellie sorted us out with the conservatory which was private yet the bar was easily accessible.nThe food was amazing we went for the silver option from the buffet option and it didn’t disappoint, in fact everybody mentioned just how good the food was.nEllie and Kim were amazing, looked after us so well, made sure we had everything we needed, plates were cleaned up without being over intrusive.nFantastic service, great venue and cracking food.nThanks everyone.
The Powder Monkey supplied the venue and catering for our Aunt’s funeral, and we couldn’t have asked for better. The staff were incredibly accommodating, kind, and professional during a difficult time. The venue was welcoming and well set up, and the food was excellent. Everything was handled with care and sensitivity, which made the day run smoothly and allowed us to focus on remembering our aunt. Had the wake of my auntie Moira’s funeral at the powder monkey today and have to say that staff were nothing short of fantastic. Obviously a somber mood for us were given a private room far away from main bar but close enough for easy access to drinks, and to still be a part of a pub feel. Free tea and coffee was also provided away from what we paid which was great for those driving and needing a warm comfort. Kim and Ellie as an honourable mention for their great work, aswell as all staff making sure all plates were cleared but we didn’t feel too fussed over. Massive thank you to them amazing food, stayed hot for ages was delicious and everyone raved about it after a tough day!
I'm recovering from recent major surgery so am on crutches & struggling with mobility. I live local to the powder monkey so have popped in twice this week on an afternoon on my own, using the walk as exercise. All of staff have been so attentive & helpful, helping me get seated & bringing food/drinks to my table for me due to my limited movement. They've also been so friendly & chatty, making conversation & making me feel more than welcome coming in alone. The experience has been so nice and I will be coming again during my time off work, either alone or with company. I would recommend anyone of any age to try this wonderful friendly pub. It's true that it's the people make a pub/Restaurant, and the management, staff and regular customers in the powder monkey are great!!
While eating food with my daughter I was accused of sniffing drugs because I looked at the cctv funny while having a cigarette..nnWill never step foot in the bar againnDisgusting behaviour from the blonde manger
