Best restaurant I’ve been to in a long while. The service was absolutely fantastic, we sat outside and the waitress was so attentive and caring. My boyfriend had the oysters to start which were delicious, then he had the hairy bikers fish and chips which were very good followed by the ice cream brownie sundae. I had the half a lobster and chips which was the best lobster I’ve ever had followed by the salted caramel brownie which was warm with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. It was absolutely divine! Can’t wait to come back again!
We were lucky to get a table outside on a beautiful sunny day! The interior of the restaurant was lovely. The staff were lovely, helpful and cheerful. The food was delicious and the restaurant is clearly deserving of its Michelin Guide inclusion. The menu is not fussy but the ingredients are fresh and local. Would highly recommend but if you want to make sure you get a table book in advance. Dogs were welcome.
Came here for a special meal with my partner and it was just fantastic. The decor was light and airy, the staff were incredibly helpful and assuring about my gluten free diet, and the food was amazing. We had the oysters to share which came with some sauces to add on for extra flavour. I had the potted lobster gf starter which was mildly spiced and absolutely packed full of flavour. My partner had the halibut special main and said it was the most delicious piece of fish he'd ever tasted and I had the full lobster which was a beautifully delicate dish. The restaurant is also dog friendly so we got to see lots of very sweet and well behaved dogs! We had the most lovely evening and will definitely be choosing to come here next time we're in the area. Thank you!
An absolutely fantastic experience and definitely one of THE places you must visit for food and drink when in Bamburgh. It is one of the nicest meals I have ever had and the ale was very tasty. Definitely worth going but I would 100% recommend you book as it is so nice and so popular that you don't want to miss out. You do need to pay a deposit when booking but you get it back off your bill and you cannot really complain as people should not book then not turn up as it is a great place
Wow, what an amazing restaurant, proudly displaying Michelin star awards, they are well deserved. Wonderfully attentive and friendly staff led us to a lovely table and then over the next hour or so my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed starter, main and dessert. Those with smaller appetites will struggle as portions are generous! Can't recommend this place enough. Book in advance. Ample parking nearby on the main streets and it also has dog friendly sections.
Had an excellent meal! Service was impeccable and the staff were very helpful in checking ingredients on the specials for an intolerance. Food was perfect. Second time we've visited, and just as amazing as the first time!Food: 5/5
Make sure you book to avoid disappointment! This place has everything, great staff, good menu choice at very reasonable prices and gorgeous food. There is so much to choose from especially with the starter and main specials. The mussels and lobster were the stand out for us.
Visited 19/11/22 afternoon meal, lovely friendly atmosphere good selection on main menu also specials boards to choose from we had, Tandoori King prawns-monkfish scampi starters. mains shoulder of Lamb- Haddock & chips, A fantastic meal. Also Ladies waiting on tables doing a great job polite and friendly, only disappointment we couldn't manage a dessert as we were stuffed. Here's to your continued success Thankyou.
First time visiting The Potted Lobster, second time up round Bamburgh and Seahouses etc. Last time we came we couldn't get a reservation as it was so busy. We were a party of 6 + the dog. The food was excellent all round with absolutely nothing to complain of. I shared the Seafood Platter for two which was enormous! We both have a very healthy appetite but we could not quite finish the platter after having had a cup of the chowder as a starter it was recommended that we didn't have a starter, to be fair. Each aspect of the platter was excellent, the squid and muscles being my favourites. Would definitely go back again to try various other dishes!
Oh my word!!! Amazing food and ENORMOUS portions. Soft shell crab starter for me - yum and cup of clam chowder for the hubster, absolutely delicious. We both had the fish and chips - batter was so light and crispy, chips lovely. I can eat but I didn't manage to eat all my plate!! Would recommend most definitely.
